Jay Yelas moves to Ranger
As of Jan 1st, Jay is now running in a Ranger. He'll still be using Yamaha outboards. I have to admit, it'll be weird to see him fishing out of a Ranger and not a Skeeter anymore.

what brand flouro
After trying various fluoro's I discovered P-Line 100% a try. Not only is it the most cost effiecent fluoro ( 250yds vs competitors 200yd spools) I've found it to be the most managable and most sensative.

St Croix Mojo Bass...
yea, with the exception of the Triumph, there hasn't been a Croix that has dissappointed me yet.

Favorite Swimbait reel?
Congrats on ur purchase, hope u land a few hawgs w/ it.

Bass Pro Shops Excel Mono
Na, I already know whats the best line to use ( P-Line 100% Fluoro), I just hate wasting line, especially if its in a bulk spool and I initally planned on using it for backing. Thought I would use it up so it didn't go to waste. Thinking now of just donateing it to some younger anglers I know otherwise I'll never be able to get rid of it.

St Croix Mojo Bass...
The mojo's are built on the same blank as the premiers, just a different color and w/ split grips. I just ordered the swimbait rod and can't wait to try it out. I think the rod series won't dissapoint u.

KVD-Sexy Shad Kit
Too sexy for me! ;D Na, but in all out honesty, it was nice of u to do that for him. If it was me, eh b/c i havn't caught a thing on the sexy shad pattern yet after a year of trying.

Favorite of 08'
A 3/8oz. custom skirted jig, than a Storm WiggleWart in a close second, third would be the senko.

freight charge?
Its a fact of life. They need to pay for the gas to get the boat to the dealer/floorroom somehow. I would agree with everyone else, try to get them to throw in some upgraded equip.

Favorite Swimbait reel?
I tried a Calcutta 200 and it didn't do a very good job. The 300 on the other hand was A LOT BETTER! I think I should step it up to a 400 but I don't like the added weight of it so the 300 would be the best choice in my opinion.

St. Croix Mojo Swimbait Rod
I just put in an order for the swimbait rod. Can't wait to try it out, unfortunatley I'll have to wait till late April/Early May for the ice to melt. :'( On the bright side I got a sexy new St. Croix ;D

Bass Pro Shops Excel Mono
Last year, BPS had the bulk spools on sale and I bought a few to use as backing. But I would like to know how it stands up as a mainline? I ask this because I mainly don't want to waste the line, it'll take me forever to use up what I got if I only use it for backing material even though i believe I got the 3 bulk spools of it for $10 total. How sensative is it? How good is the abrasion resistance? Castability?

Nitro Boat Quality??
I agree with cart, dn't buy from BPS, go through a dealer if you can. I think the only thing that really is holding Nitro back from being an awesome deal would be BPS's horrible customer service when it comes to thier boats. Another thing, Nitro's don't hold their value very well when compared to a Ranger, Trition, Basscat, or Skeeter. You can buy them for a cheaper price than the others but you will lose that money big time when it comes to resell, and it'll be harder to sell because they are not as well "desired" in the boating community, atleast in my area.

Chronarch B vs. Curado E5
Chronarch hands down. I love the new curado, but i love the chronarchs more! ;D

Shimano reel under 150?
A Citica E left or right hand model will run $119 which is a reel that I have in the D version and I love it, I plan on replacing my D's however for the E's b/c they are lighter in weight. On ebay, you can find Chronarch B's for roughly $120-$180 for one that is lightly used ( I recently a nib for $130) which is over $100 off the regular price. You may be able to find a few Curado D's on ebay as well for $150. Otherwise if you can save a little more and buy a new Curado E for $180

Mustad Mono
Von, where did you find that line? I never even heard of it.

What Reel Is KVD Using
I have fished w/ a friends brand new out of the box Quantum Energy PT and in the first hour the levelwind broke. He ended up replacing it through the warranty and within a year he had to have it replaced again. He no longer fishes with Quantum and I take that as a sign that maybe I shouldn't use Quantum anymore. They just break in my hands for some odd reason. If they work for you with no problems all the power to you, I'm just not a fan of Quantum.

Nitro Boat Quality??
My 2002 Nitro is nice, but when I buy a new boat, it'll be a skeeter. BPS owns Nitro and the customer service is pretty bad, but they are getting better. I have yet to see any stress cracks in my gelcoat. The ride is quite smooth in rough water, possible the best I've been in next to a ranger. The carpet, trim has a few places where it could've been better, but no biggie to me. I haven't had any issues in my boat, maybe a blown fuse once in a while but thats a quick fix. The gelcoat hasn't faded or clouded up, but thats mainly due to me waxing it twice a month. The previous owner swapped out the Merc for a Yamaha, which hasn't given me any issues yet. If Nitro was packaged w/ a Yamaha I'd buy again. Oh yea, I dn't care for how only certain models (higher end models) have a lifetime warrenty when the rest only have a 10 year. Thats another thing other manufactures due, most of them have a lifetime on all models.

What Reel Is KVD Using
He sure isn't using his "Signature reel" Get a shimano instead. lol. No one I know likes Quantums because there not durable. I thought I had read somewhere also, that KVD wears out atleast one bearing each tournament in his reels.
-
Crank baits.
More info would be helpful, but I'll give it a shot. I would use a DD22, a DT-16, and a WiggleWart.

Shad locked in the ice
I read somewhere that bass won't eat something thats already dead. But they will hammer something that is just barely alive. But then again, they will eat something that is being deadsticked sooo... I would try the jerkbait thing that is being reccomended just b/c I've never heard of it for a little bit and then go to the warmer water.

swimbait rods and economy swimbait rods
In all out honesty, I haven't used the 8" Hudds. ANd according to the shimano's rod reccomendations, they do fall in between the H and XH. I currently have the H mainly, b/c here in Minnesota, I dn't hav the need to sling a MONSTER swimbait that wieghs over 5oz. so my reccomendation would to ask you this. If you think your going to use 8" Hudd and in the future see yourself throwing something bigger I would go with the XH. If the 8" Hudd is the biggest your going to throw than I would think the H would be the way to go. Ofcourse however, I don't have any experience w/ Huddlestons and I dn't know their exact wieghts for the ROF system. I am merly going off of what Shimano says and my experience. Hope this helps.

swimbait rods and economy swimbait rods
Thanx Grimilin. I was just poking around a few sites that I knew to see if I couldn't help Flech find a rod in that price range. I don't use the Diawa, I am currently using a Shimano Crucial for Swimbaits, looking at getting a St. Croix Mojo 7' 9" for smaller baits.

OK, I have counted to ten. . .
if your worried about a record fish being caught again just to break your record donate the fish to BPS or Cabela's. When The Minnesota record was broke 2 years ago, the fish was donated to Cabela's. Its currently swimming freely in an aquarium for all to see.
