  1. Best Reel Customer Service: Shimano Best Rod Customer Service: St. Croix Don't have a bad one because these are really the only two companies that i use other than Falcon, which I have yet to use customer service with them.
  2. I like the concept and idea, and I've tried it. I like it but I can't stand the knot going through my rod guides. Not only is the sound annoying but I feel like I'm going to break or nick the guide ceramic, alconite, ect.
  3. and I thought 150hp tiller Yamahas were too much for one person to handle, but a 250! I'm sorry, but that is just a bad idea and a accident waiting to happen.
  4. all of the Bass Cat boats except the Bay Cat, have or have the option of a security system installed. Good thing to know if your thinking about getting a Bass Cat. I think it is a good idea, but i don't know how it works, not many bass cat owners where I live. Maybe there is a security system you can pick up and install in the boat.
  5. 5/0 and 6/0 Gamakatsu EWG
  6. This is why I'm installing a Loc-R-Bar in my boat. I'm still going to take stuff out of my boat, but atleast if they try and do sucecced in breaking into my boat compartments ( Not likely with a Loc-R-Bar installed) all there efforts will be for nothing.
  7. Rick Clunn uses one rod & reel combo for everything so I don't think its a big deal to have a dedicated flip/pitch setup. I do believe though you need a Heavy Power rod vs a MH. Throw some 30-50lb Power Pro braid and you can flip, pitch, spinnerbait, t-rig, c-rig, crank, ect.
  8. no, not much of a big deal to me. When I'm using a spinning reel most of them are spooled with 8lb P-Line Fluoro. The only exception is if you don't have alot of money to buy a bunch of rods&reels you can rig one spool w/ 8lb fluoro and the other w/ 20lb Power Pro so you can switch depending on the situation. The aboved lines are what I use on my spinning reels and you can obviously use whatever brand and lb test you'd like.
  9. I have a few friends who own this motor and they seem to really enjoy them. I've had the pleasure riding in a stratos powered by a 98' Intruder and it was a good performer. One thing I noticed on the 98 strato's with a Intruder is that the engine would have hydrofoils to help get the boat on plane. Its no big deal, I personally just think it makes the boat ugly. I also agree with cart, stay away from FICHT s!!!!!!!!! AT ALL COST!!!
  10. I disagree with women not being able to compete. I've fished against women on the Weekend Series and I think have just as a good chance to win as I do. I would see Kim as another competitor I would have to beat. I think she'll kick butt!! And I agree with Bass Dude: This thread is beating down a profesional angler. That ain't right people. >
  11. I thought it was very good. I really liked the story on Dottie. Now I know even more about the story and LOVED IT!!
  12. P-Line 100% Fluorocarbon. Best priced ( 250yds vs competitors 200yds at or nearly the same $), most abrasion resistant, sensative, and managable fluoro I have used yet. $14.99-21.99 for a 250yd spool. Make sure you use some KVD Line and Lure Conditionor on it or any fluorocarbon for that matter and you will be set!
  13. I second the Poor Boys. Although I think that the erie fisherman will wind up fishing the Gulp! Goby more than the Poor Boys in due time.
  14. P-Line 100% fluro. Good managability, very sensitive, tough abrasion resistance. and most cost effiecent fluoro I have found besides Vicious and Vanish (junk). For the price of most fluoros you get 250 yds of P-Line vs 200yds of the competitors.
  15. Rapala DT's when they first came out ( lip problem that we all know about), however the newer ones are awesome! Banjo Minnow- caught fish, just not any size Berkley Vanish- it was good until other companies came out with fluoros and i found p-line 100% fluoro. Chatterbaits- u either love em or hate em. i hate em. I am surprised some of you don't like storm swimbaits. THey are the best CHEAP Swimbait out there!! PB 5 fish limit: 22lbs 5oz all on the storm swimshads!
  16. Muskies = STEEL LEADERS!! I have been in boats with friends that caught huge muskies 20-25lb range that were caught on 8lb line with no leader. I don't know where everybody says u need a steel leader for pike, living in minnesota you catch way more pike than bass and never had a pike break my line b/c i didn't have a steel leader. Personal best in open water: 15lb Northern Pike fishing a spinnerbait w/ no leader on 17lb test. Personal best through Ice: 20lb
  17. I think I'll go ahead and buy an extra battery. On the other hand, I could buy a corded dremel for making lures, and take the cordless in the Marine and Small Engine classes I'm taking.
  18. Jackel in my mind, are as good if not better than Lucky Craft. Only place I can find them though is through ***.
  19. first off, WELCOME! There are several differences between the two. Fluorocarbon is more dense than Mono, thus giving it a smaller diam. in the same lb test rating. Fluoro also reflects sunlight thus giving it the ability to be invisible (awesome in clear water). It doesn't absorb water. Also, fluoro is also more abrasion resistant. However, it does have its flaws. Ex. Fluoro is harder to cast but a little KVD Line and Lure will help that problem. Some brands are bad at breaking at the knot. Mono floats thus making that the choice for topwaters. NEVER THROW TOPWATERS WITH FLUORO!!! IT SINKS! As for the lures Heres what I use. Spinnerbait: 17lb P-Line 100% Fluoro Crankbait: 10lb P-Line 100% Fluoro Topwaters: 15lb P-Line CXX Copolymer or 14lb Trilene XL
  20. I bought a cordless Dremel a few weeks ago and it works great. However, I've noticed that the battery drains down pretty quick. Has anyone else with a cordless Dremel have this problem? I like the cordless ability (no wire to get in the way! ;D) but I hate only being able to sand and shape 2-3 baits before it needs to be recharged. Guessing I should've got one with a cord.
  21. x4 for the compre. However, I think the st.croix mojos are going to be awesome rods as well.
  22. keep the citica. however, why are you considering taking it back and getting a Daiwa, is there something wrong with ur citica?
  23. I use 15lb P-Line Fluoro. If I were going to use braid, it would be 20lb Power Pro with a 15lb flouro leader that is 3-4ft long.
