  1. flechero, thanks for clearing that up. After thinking about it, your right in that its the rod that gets em out of cover.
  2. where can I buy one! LOL! ;D
  3. I think Dirty Sanchez w/ a brown jig would be an intresting combo.
  4. For a hook w/ that thing try Picasso's Ish Monroe 12/0Hook! It was orginally designed for Picasso Ish Tube but it should work on that monster! http://www.***.com/descpage.html?PCODE=PPXH
  5. If you have a jet powered outboard than I have heard of guyz driving them in as shallow as 4in. but i'd be skeptical. MOre like 8-10in. Prop driven outboards i would say it'll depend on the boat and if it has a jackplate or not. I don't drive my Nitro on plane when the water is less than 2ft. I had a bad experince one time w/ shallow water and took out a lower unit. :'( thank god for insurance though ;D
  6. I dn't have the 520c or the 522c but I do have the 334c which is the predecessor to these units. My 334c has the internal gps and i haven't ever had a problem losing signal. Also I would advise you to use a ram mount so you can adjust where the unit is so you can see it better or put it at an angle you like.
  7. 5:1 Curado for cranks 6.3:1 Curado for lipless cranks
  8. I have used both and too me they are both great rods. the loomis would be better for plastics b/c they seem to be more sensitive but the st. croix would be awesome for everything else. I would get a loomis spinning and a st.croix for the baitcaster.
  9. The only place I don't use 7:1 gear ratio is deep cranking and slop fishing. Deep cranking use a 5:1 so you don't wear yourself out, and a 5:1 for slop b/c its has more power to wrinch the fish out of the slop without the worry of breaking something.
  10. Its okay, but P-Line 100% is WAY BETTER!
  11. JUNK!!! Plain and Simple! Gamakatsu is king, than Mustad, VMC, Owner all come in second. Eagle Claw is in its own class: JUNK
  12. I agree on the felt idea. Rough water w/ rods banging against wood is a recipe for a broken rod.
  13. I fish the co angler side of the weekend series every year and every boater I drew alwayz had the back rear compartment empty for my gear. Thanx guyz i really appreciate it. Anywayz I only bring 5-6 rods at the max and i stuff a Cabelas bag w/ as much stuff as I can. I usually bring only the baits that i use on a regular basis in the colors that I use regularly cause i feel i can catch fish anywhere anytime w/ those baits. Plus with every boater I drew, if I didn't have something that was really specialized and and none of my stuff was working, they were more than happy to lend me a few of their copies for the day. Again thanx guyz, Minnesota weekend series boaters ROCK!!
  14. I use 20lb Power Pro in Moss Green. This way i dn't hav to worry about the fish seeing my line cause the green line matches the water color when theres algae and around vegetation. Plus I can still see the green line above water.
  15. Treating the bulk spool with KVD Line & Lure Conditionor will help add life to the line. I've alwayz bought line in bulk and the conditionor really helps during storage. I still have a spool of Trilene that Im storing for the past 3 years and i use it to spool up my friends reels and it still performs great!
  16. Before I switched from Triline to P-Line, Trilene Sensation was AWESOME!! 8lb test never broke at all for me during my time w/ it. And I was skipping senkos under trees, docks, and other heavy cover w/out a worry. Now though I rely on P-Line CXX although I reccomend treating it w/ KVD Line and Lure Conditonor, although I do that to every line. ;D
  17. I wouldn't go over more than 1/4oz.
  18. Braid pretty much lasts forever, some of my buddies are still using the braid that they put on 8 years ago!! The only exception is rocks where it rubs against it and cuts it. Basically it'll last until u don't have enough on the spool to make a long cast b/c u'v either retied soo much or broke off soo many times.
  19. thanx for the heads up, and a great reminder to everyone that bad things can happen to the best of us at anytime, anywhere, and we should never take anything for granted..
  20. thinkin the saltwater reels would have tougher gears to keep them from wearing out w/ a DD22 on a spinning reel. As for a rod, 7ft MH Falcon Lowrider or Cara or St.Croix Avid
  21. maybe u'll want a saltwater reel to handle a DD22. Just a thought dn't knw if it would work.
  22. P-Line 100% Fluorocarbon. AWESOME stuff!!!!
  23. Plastics, cause theres so many styles and ways u can fish them. Although, I could break it down more but....then it would get confusing. So in general plastics, then jigs, then cranks...
  24. looks very sexy, where can i get one?
