  1. You nailed the answer to your own question. The only exception to this is a red crawfish color in the spring in any water clarity is awesome!
  2. snyper77 Posted on: Today at 2:32pm I see everyone using (mostly) 8 and 10# mono for crankbaits. I'm throwing 17# mono. Yes, I know it will restrict my baits from running as deep as it's label says, but, aren't you guys afraid of hang ups and breaking off a $6 bait with that 8 and 10# line? I can just hear it now: *snap* - then retie. Fish for 5 minutes, hang up.... and *snap*. Gosh, with 8 and 10# lines, you can't "pull" very much on it or else, SNAP. I only fish lakes that are 10' or less in max depths. Do I still need to back down from 17# mono for crankbaits? Its all about finesse. I reel the crank down to its max depth and then gently pull the rod sideways towards me. Pick up slack and pull. I've even ripped crankbaits over grassbeds and still have yet to break my 10# P-Line!
  3. jigs, senkos, frogs, and swimbaits
  4. That makes sense too me. Minnesota doesn't have alot of waters that are stained or muddy. thanx for the clarification.
  5. Im sorry but wat is soo great about purple worms? Ive tried em and never caught a thing.
  6. 6'10" Falcon Cara, not the redesigned cara though. I don't Like the split grips on the new one. So then the next logical choice would be a 6'10" Falcon Lowrider. Great skipping rod.
  7. Shimano Saros looks very intresting. But you can't go wrong w/ a symetre
  8. Falcon Lowrider or Fenwick flipping sticks both are good choices for around $130. Or spend an extra 30-40 dollars for a St. Croix Avid flippin Stick
  9. If your line is coiling up into a slinky then I think you need to change your line more often. 15lb P-line Fluorocarbon when casting jigs around open cover, 50lb PowerPro around docks, heavy vegetation, timber, ect.
  10. Sweet Beavers, Zoom Li'l Critter Craw, anything that is small and compact yet has a big looking profile that doesn't have a lot of appendages that often gets caught on weeds.
  11. Scum Frogs, sweet beavers, senko
  12. Hard Jerkbaits.
  13. When the water temp is above 50 degrees. But as a good rule of thumb: hearing them croaking at night, frogs fishing is right.
  14. Red line is translucent which a makes it dissappear under water. Red hooks however isn't translucent and when light hits the hook it flashes red into the water. I totally believe in this and I have noticed a huge difference in the bites I have gotten. With a front red treble 90% of the fish I have caught on a crankbait, the red treble was wat stuck the fish. I don't fish red line so I'll leave it at that.
  15. P-Line Fluorocarbon all the way!!!! Totally worth the $14 to $18 a spool!
  16. w/ 8lb sensastion I landed a 20lb carp! U try doing that w/ other monos in that line class. Of course it helped that i loosened my drag
  17. wats the point of a bead on a t-rig? On a carolina rig always.
  18. Posted by: the_Conceited_ReDnEcK Posted on: Today at 5:13pm U need way more when u have a room set up for just fishing and looks like a small mom and pop store then u have almost enough yea, wat he said!
  19. Fluoro is also more sensative than mono. it get cranks a little bit deeper. I use 10lb P-line 100% Fluorocarbon. Most people think that fluoros dont strecth but they do a little bit just not as much as mono.
  20. A friend of mine builds custom rods on St. Croix blanks and he says the warranty will cover the braids. U see the pros using 50-80lb braid all the time on some of there rods so why not use it.
  21. Most fluoro lines last twice as long as mono so in reality your paying about the same price for more sensativity, more abrasion resitance, and the line clarity all the while using less line.
  22. Wiggle Warts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
