  1. it is impossible to have more bass over 10lbs than bass over 8lbs and 9lbs because all the bass that are over 10lbs are also over 8 and 9lbs. :-?
  2. i knew what this thread would be before i even opened it :
  3. do like wayne p. said and slip some shrink tube on there and then wacky rig it like you normally would, right thru the tube and worm. or do like just old fisherman and tie yourself up some weedless hooks. i prefer wire for my weedguard instead of mono though.
  4. two things that will increase fish per bait: 1: use a parasite clip www.parasiteweights.com 2: use *** trick sticks instead of senkos www.*.com
  5. seriously!!! trash that BPS spring scale junk and get yourself a nice berkley digital scale. mine is acurate within an ounce.
  6. d**n it why do tackle companies have to do this!!! now i have to go out and buy a new citica and probably a carrot stix to try it out on! ;D
  7. my favorite bait would be a rapala DT, but my favorite bait when nothing else is working would be an *** *** (5") in shimmer shad.
  8. thats a nice, quick solution, i think i might try that next time.
  9. black skirt, black head, red blade. i have never caught a fish on a buzzbait. i just realized that! ;D maybe that should be a goal for me for the summer.
  10. that would be unnecessary. doing that would only give you advantage if the fish is closer than 5-10 feet (assuming thats how much you put on). otherwise, if the line was gonna break, it would break at the mono-braid knot. you should just spool all the way up with braid, you'll like it i promise
  11. it looks very thick and healthy, i'd say 5lbs.
  12. GREAT POST!!! im glad i took the time to read it all! some pretty good information in there. i love slop fishing. i have a pretty good slop pond and trying to think of other ponds i fish that develop slop. slop is fun to fish because if you rig your baits right, you barely have to pull junk off your baits at all, and there are some big bass to be had in the slop!!! plus, not many regular joe anglers fish right in the slop, so the bass there dont see much fishing pressures.
  13. nice video. cool special effects. i liked the underwater shots!
  14. smaller baits will often get you bit more with generally smaller fish, whereas bigger baits will get you bit less, but you will generally have bigger fish.
  15. you can always send it my way if you are not pleased with it! ;D
  16. lol i added losing the fish just to be funny. i guess if you lose it, you didnt really catch it so how can that be part of catching!?!? i'll add a few options that you have suggested
  17. thanks for all the replies guys! this is a VERY shallow pond. it is only a few inches deep around the edges, then it drops off to a few feet deep about 10 feet from shore. the deepest part is in the very middle and i would say it isnt much deeper than 8 or 10 feet.
  18. i have never used floro, so i cannot speak for it, but i know for a fact braid is a zillion times more sensative than mono. braid is the most sensative line i have ever used. its very sensative. i can feel bites on slack line, i dont care if you say i cant, i KNOW i can because i have felt bites on slack line, i do all the time. either way, braid still has zero stretch, so you will have no problem setting the hook from 30 feet away.
  19. if its a big, well known lake, try www.topozone.com topozone will only show you an outline of the lake. if its a small, obscure lake/pond, your best bet is google earth. like ebby said, you can see some features like dropoffs and points when you use google earth.
  20. thanks guys. it is a great pond. i love that pond but i hate it lol. i love it because it is full of QUALITY fish. bigger fish than anywhere else that i fish. but i hate it because the fish are so difficult to catch. i have been skunked there MANY times. its also got kinda limited access. here are two pictures of the pond that, if put side by side, show a view of the entire pond (panorama style):
  21. thats pretty funny! ;D
  22. the 4.6lber i caught today had me burried in the absolute deepest stuff you could imagine. it was burried in hydrilla and snot grass and then it got tangled up in lily pads. it was about 6 feet in front of me and i was shore fishing so i got scared i would lose it. i just eased up on the pressure and the fish got it self right out of the pads and i pulled it on shore!
