Leaking aluminum boat
my boat leaks and i have tried silicone with no prevail. then i tired jbweld thinking it would solve it right quick...wrong. like gatortom said, it doesnt flex, so when you put the boat in the water and start walking around in it, the pressure makes the hull flex, but the jbweld just pops off.

Another good time without the boat (pics)
good job. those are some very pretty bass.

Spot or ?
thats a smallie dude, you can tell that the lip only goes halfway across the eye, unlike largemouths where the lip extends the eye.

Blue stealth...
that looks SWEEEET! i think it would look better if the front grip was tapered a little bit though.

Roostertails Good or Bad
Blue Fox Vibrax Minnow Spin is the greatest inline i have found. it was one of my best producers in the summer of '06. if you fish em on an UL setup in a small pond in the summer, you will pull out numerous amounts of bass, crappie, and jumbo bluegills. great lures!!!! http://www.bluefox.com/products/vibrax_minnow_spin.php i personally do not like wordens rooster tails because i can never get the darn things to spin!

I finally discovered the blessing called "braid"!
i cant believe nobody mentioned one of the very reasons why i feel braid is superior...NO MEMORY WHATSOEVER!!!!!! im so sick of having mono tangle to hell with just the slightest bit of slack in my line. braid doesnt do that . but the main reason i love braid is for the sensativity. it is definitley the most sensative line out there. its also got no stretch like everone else said, so its got some good hooksetting power. these three reasons (no memory, sensative, strong) are why i consider it to be a superior worm and jig line. worms and jigs often involve slack line, so no memory is great here. you also need to be able to feel for light bites and bottom contact, so sensativity is great here. the zero stretch strength is great for slamming the steel home! i use yo-zuri hybrid on my crankbait rod only because of its stretch. but i hate how coily it gets.... :-/

Tackle Marketing
hmmm...best marketing techniques? anything with the words: paddle, tail, swimbait, sexy shad.... :-X i think those are just sooooo hyped up that people will buy them because everybody else is. im not saying they arent good, because i havent tried them, i just think theyre hyped.

yes it is, custom painted...but this is an entry only thread, remember?

monsters DO exist!!!
paul that is great man! i used a similar technique to get my fish yesterday. i put my bluegill lure right in the middle of the bed and jiggled it, all the fish were nose down on it, and then the biggest one moved forward and went to suck it off the bed . bed fishing is really fun! ;D ;D ;D

Crashing crankbaits!??
yeah i forgot to mention that in my novel :. a lot of times i will find really old waterlogged brush where if you do get snagged the braches will break right off without a fuss.

fishing small ponds
i fish a small, shallow farm pond frequently, and Rapala DT Fat 03 is a killer bait in there. i fished a pretty good sized pond today, and the top producer was an *** *** jr. in camo clolor. it caught my dad 9 bass and me 5 bass.

Crashing crankbaits!??
yup yup yup, you need to use square billed cranks or coffin billed cranks. i have found that square billed work a little better for bouncing off stuff. two great lures to invest in are: Rapala DT Fat and Rapala DT Flat. the fat has a square bill and its a very fat bodied balsa lure. the flat has a coffin bill and is a very flat bodied balsa lure. a nice sensative rod will aid in the crashing technique, for the sole purpose that you will know exactly when you hit something. when you feel the bump of hitting something, just stop, and let your crankbait float. if you know there is very little chance of snagging the object (like a smooth rock) then you might even want to jerk your lure forward and then stop it. what i do is i will run my crank into whatever is around....the bottom, stumps, trees, rocks... but i try to stay away from brush. brush (at least my interpretation of the word "brush) is like a bush w/o leaves...tons of thin scraggly branches shooting out in all directions. since this isnt really a very "solid" target, there is alot of open space between the thin branches, it is easy to snag in. when im fishing brush, i will usually either put the crankbait down and pick up a worm, or just fish the crank around the edges of the brush. you will get snagged a lot less if you hit more solid targets like stumps or trees (that dont have tons of scraggly branches) and rocks. the cranks will just bounce off to the side of these. bottom line is just keep things erratic. this is what will keep the bass interested in your lures. most pepole will be mechanically dragging their lures in open water for fear of snagging. dont be like other people...fish it in the nasty stuff where the bass actually live hope this helped....GOOD LUCK!!!!

beds
well if you have gin clear water that is a big help. depends on what the bottom is like. usually the beds will be round crater looking things on the bottom. most of em are around 2 feet across...but that varies. they are usually either lighter or darker than the surrounding bottom. some of the beds i saw today were light around the edges but had dark in the middle...i think these were abandoned beds and sediment filled in the middle, because i didnt see any fish on those beds. the beds that i saw fish on were all lighter than the surounding bottom. you will usually see at least one fish hanging on or near the bed. today i saw beds with 5 fish on them.

Size class question- FishChris, other trophy hunters please
my biggest bass (7lbs) imediatley bolted for deeper water when i caught it in 1 foot of water spawning. my second biggest bass (6lbs) was also caught in a goot of water spawning, but it was much closer to me and it spent most of the time thrashing like crazy around the nest.

10 + pounder
a bait shop eh? that looks more like around 7.5lbs to me....

Good day of bed fishing
great hawgs!!! i love spawn fishing for that reason...you can see the fish and watch how they react to your baits. that looks like a killer pond too!!!!

IMPO, this is just uncalled for :-(
i would think it does keep the others out, but like others have said, he could have found a better place to hang them. perhaps you should talk to the farmer about it and see if he could take them down and put em somewhere else.
