  1. this might be too much to ask, but... how would you rate a carrot stix against an avid, assuming all of the properties of the rod are the same (length, action, power...)?
  2. a clowny pig? :-?
  3. that things a BEAST!!!!
  4. these look great. bottom one is my fav.
  5. by "in-line hooks" im assuming you just mean regular ole' hooks. in this case, go into ANY fly shop and ask for a pack or two of hooks in the size 10-14 range. these sizes work for most bream. if you have abnormally large bream, you might wanna try a size 8 hook too. but 10 or 12 works best on most bream (14 is really tiny).
  6. i got the lure today, and i will be able to use it this weekend, if not sooner. can someone please make this a sticky thread?
  7. my favorite lake is just like that, except it isnt as muddy as yours. what i do is i go there, and i wacky rig a 4" senko style lure (i use *** trick sticks) and i will flip it into every pocket i can fit it into. this usually yields a good limit for a night. colors i like to use are (these are all *** colors): shimmer shad, smoke red pepper, smoke blue pepper, junebug, juneug. the thing about these colors is that they are all dark (for contrast in muddy water) and they all have glitter (for attraction in muddy water). give those a shot and let us know how you do! ps. use 50lb braid, because those bass will tangle you in lilies like nobodies business... :-[
  8. pm sent. thanks for providing a prize brent!
  9. sounds crazy, but has anyone ever fixed a leak in their boat with duct tape? i was thinkin about goin-to-town w/ duct tape on my boat in an attepmt to fix the small leak that is along the middle seam. dont laugh at me ;D
  10. Bronze medal w00t!!!!
  11. i dont see wha the problem is. the actual photofinish it self looks pretty good, maybe a little rough on the edges, but other than that its good. the paint doesnt match at all, but that is easily fixable. it doesnt even look like you clearcoated it. but if you did, put another coat on. the second coat wont make the foil any shinier, but it will make the bait itself shinier. (2 coats of epoxy is perttty shiny)
  12. this is totally hilarious! it is indeed very wrong, but they didnt hurt anything, however, it would have been so much better if they got an ***-beating on video! ;D
  13. i just PM'd TheBeast with my addy...i should get it soon. i'll be sure to report back w/ pics of how it goes. CAN THIS PLEASE BE A STICKY!!!
  14. Congratulations, Paul, for making the front cover of North American Fisherman Magazine with your awesome 273/4 inch catch and release entry!!! what cool prizes did you get?
  15. drove to the farm pond and got there around 7:30. i caught one fish right off the bat (dink) and then it was slow for a little while. then i caught this 4lb pig right next to the dock on an original floating rapala: the bite was pretty slow but we were catching fish constantly the whole time. here are my dad's trophies of the day: 3lb 2oz: 2+lb: all in all it was a good day, i enede up with 6 bass and my dad got 7. and i got to practice driving.
  16. i really like wake cranks. great when bass are up shallow over weeds or something like that. i dont like the manns -1 though, i really like the bandit footloose. in the summer, when the farm ponds are only a few feet deep, sometimes this is the only crankbait i can catch em on.
  17. nice fish! but i always wondered, how do you take pics of multiple fish at the same time if you release them all?
  18. I'da pushed him in ;D
  19. way to go paul!!! i love gods swimbaits! they freaking work!!!!! most people dont like using them but i LOVE em! so fun to use. nice catch paul!
  20. hey wow this is so cool thanks for the link!!!!!!!!
  21. ;Dyou guys are funny! ;D just got back from day 2 of 4 with driving with the instructor and i must say it went MUCH better than wednesday. i was a nervous wreck on wednesday cuz it was my first time on the roads, but i was much less nervous and much more aware today. im driving to the farm pond tomorrow morning for some good fishin
  22. that jointed one is...interesting. what did you use for the tail? and i agree with mattlures...you should only put the photo on the sides, and maybe just a tiny bit over the edges, when you try to wrap it all the way down it gets those little creases all over it. the popper looks like a fish catcher for sure!
