Bass seat pole caddy/drink holder?
I just bought the Handie Hold-It Supply Caddy. It will not hold a Gatorade bottle, so it is of limited use for me. I'm still in the market too.

Glenn is probably gonna change my name to 502questionmouth if I keep this up but....
Tell your friend to come talk to me. About thirty years ago my father and I went to Guist Creek but when we got there we could not put the boat in. The lake was almost iced over. While we were there an older gentleman came up with a 7 pound bass that he had caught through the ice in the creek just to the right of the boat ramp.

Free Shoes U. on 4 years probation
Every time I wear an FSU shirt someone comes up to me and wants to talk about sports. I tell them I could not care less about FSU sports and that I wear the shirt because both of my daughters received their degrees from FSU. They always look confused.

Opinions on a used Tracker boat?
I would jump on it. I am still running a 1984 Bass Tracker Tournament TX with a 2006 50 hp 2 stroke. It runs about 34 mph WOT but would do better with a different prop. I wouldn't worry about depreciation and resale value unless you plan to upgrade in the next few years.

Club draw tournaments
My club's tournaments are all draw tournaments and you are not allowed to fish with the same member in a club tournament more than once in a year. A friend of mind said he didn't want to join my club because he didn't want to have to let other club members know where he catches his fish. I found this to be an interesting point of view since I joined a club to learn more about bass fishing and to learn how other guys did it. I would hate to think I had to fish with the same guy week in and week out.

English professor sucks.
Had she discussed the use of the literary present tense and expressed her desire that you use it?

save phace masks???
It was in the upper 20s when we took off Saturday morning and I sure did regret not bringing my helmet.

save phace masks???
I just use a full face motorcycle helmet. It is much marmer than a Save Phace.

Replacement windshields for bass boats......
Custom Mold and Tint in Monticello, Arkansas. I got a new windshield for my old Bass Tracker for about $85 last year. It was better than the original.

Mercury... 2 stroke or 4 stroke?
You don't have to worry about it any more. My new 50 hp Mercury 2 stroke has a reservoir for oil on the motor. You just put straight gas in the gas tank and keep sufficient oil in the reservoir. I have an older 17 foot Bass Tracker and was trying to decide between a 2 and 4 stroke last year. The original 2 stroke 50 hp Mercury lasted almost 25 years and I got a very good deal on a new-old-stock 2 stroke 50. The new motor will outlast the boat.

Prowler Trolling Motor from BPS
Based on the reviews of Motor Guide, that would keep me from buying one.

The cookies are here
I agree. Chocolate and mint together? That's girl food. Men don't eat that. Just give me a box of Trefoils and a bowl of vanilla ice cream and this old fat boy is a happy camper.

A little schadenfreude
scha·den·freu·de noun delight in another person's misfortune Before our trip to Astor, FL to fish the St. John's River and Lake George we had been warned that the water patrol folks were really conscientious about enforcing the no-wake zones and speed limits on the river. Yesterday morning we noticed the water patrol boat sitting at the mouth of a creek just off the river. One of the officers had a radar gun that he trained on every boat coming up the river. After a while the engine fired up, the blue lights came on and the officers intercepted five jet skiers who were violating the 30 mph speed limit. Several fishermen in in the area were observed exchanging high fives. ;D

Homeless Man Jailed For Poaching Rare Steelhead
Here's a similar story that happened in Edmonson County, Kentucky back during the Depression: A man and his wife had no money and nothing to eat so they were fishing in a creek for their dinner. Each had only a stick, some twine, and a hook. They were cited for fishing without a license. Having no money to pay the fine they showed up at court in Brownsville to plead for mercy. The judge, knowing their dire circumstances, dismissed the charges and ordered the officer who had written the citations to go to his office, retrieve the couple's "fishing tackle", and return it to them. Dad said that the sight of that officer coming down the street and into the courthouse carry two sticks with dried up worms on the hooks was one of the funniest things he had ever seen.

Are you assuming that, because he has a Hispanic surname, he is an illegal alien?

Going to buy new tm, requesting advice
MinnKota Maxxum 55# with variable speed. Make sure you get the variable speed and not the 5 speed. It will extend your battery life greatly. The 55# is the largest you can get with 12 volts and should be more than enough for a 16' aluminum bass boat.

What got you hooked?
My father never fished when I was growing up. He considered it to be a frivolous waste of time. When I was 13 years old I went off to St. Meinrad Seminary to study to become a priest. There was a 2 acre pond on the monastery property, and when I came home for spring break Dad suggested that I get a rod and reel and try fishing in it. We went to Allied Sporting Goods in Louisville and I spent $1.99 for a rod and $1.99 for a Zebco 33. I bought two inline spinners, a rooster Tail and an ABU Reflex. I started catching bass and bluegill out of that pond immediately. As soon as class was over every afternoon that the weather allowed I would spend a couple of hours fishing. When I got home for the summer Dad started fishing with me and within a few years he was just eaten up with bass fishing. My avatar is a picture of Dad with the biggest bass he ever caught.

I'm no English teacher but...
I find nothing wrong with "fixing to." The American Heritage Dictionary notes that it is a regional variant, while Merriam-Webster makes no special note of its usage. Don't get me started on "less" and "fewer."
