Spawning Carp
My PB 34 inches...I guess 15-20LBS... it was a fat fish I was 16 years old at the time! Pretty embarressing picture actually. Why the hell did I wear pink bracelets? Also why did I chose not to get a hair cut for about two years? LOL

What coulda been my new PB (PIC)
The first fish is not 7 I bet. Thing is fish always look bigger than they actually are when you land them. Excitement maybe you know. That fish is probably 4 LB range though... Here is a pic of a 4 LBer I caught....Looks about same as yours... This one was weighed at 4 LBS 4 OZ

How much does it weigh?
Guys. Theres no way to tell for sure unless you have the fish measured or weighed officially. There are so many factors such as how the picture is taken and the size of the person holding the fish.... Here are some fish I have caught! This is a Koi I caught last year. It was 11 LBS 5 OZ. In the picture it looks about 7 LBS I think. I am holding the fish close to me and I am pretty far away from the camera. Here is a Largemouth Bass I caught the other day. It was 4LBS 7 OZ. Several anglers on here said it looked bigger than that. One guy said it looked to be about 6 LBS. Thing is I am standing very close to the camera in this pic AND I am holding the fish out. Also I am a lot thinner in the Bass Pic. I have ben going to the gym and have lost 25 lbs between the two pics. I am not as big myself in the second picture. There are a lot of factors with cameras and stuff you know... Anyway nice bass I would guess high 3 LB range to low 4 LB range. Your holding it VERY close to you.

Pretty good bass thismorning
RoadWarrior, Uncle Leo, Hooked_On_Bass That fish was only 4LBS 7OZ. I weighed it on a digital scale. I never lie about the weight of my fish, I am happy with what I catch.... Thing is I am a lot better at fish photography than fishing. I am standing very close to the camera and I am holding the fish out quite a bit. I also took the picture myself. I learned how to do good self photos pretty quickly. A lot of it was from reading the article on Fish Chis's personal web page about self taken fish photos. Jivey I honestly do not know. I live in San Diego and for some reason most major lakes in my area are only open Saturday Sunday and Wensday....kinda sucks huh?

How often are you "SKUNKED"?
Well guys how often do you get skunked? To be honest I only get skunked like once or twice a year when going for bass. Those times when I get skunked are usually in the dead of winter usually after a front on days where I know the fishing will be bad but I try anyway. Thing is I seem to gave a "go to" tactic when I cannot get anything to work that will always catch me some fish....

What is your favorite part of catching a big fish?

BASS RESOURCE.COM AWARDS!!!
I just thought of something that might be a cool idea. Give awards to members of this site for certain things. No they do not get anything they just get the recognition of getting the award you know. Examples would be. Biggest bass caught - Fish Chris Most funny member - Avid Most Skilled - Hawg Caller Most Stupid User Name - FivePoundBluegill Ower Of The Most Tackle - T-Rig ... you know stuff like that nominate members for whatever...

Pretty good bass thismorning
Went out in the morning today before it got too hot and ended up with three bass. Unfortunately it is a thursday so none of the major lakes around here are open so I had to fish a small local pond that does not seem to have any large bass.... I did do pretty well though and was able to catch this nice one out of there. I doubt there are man bass this size or bigger in this small pond. He ended up going 4 LBS 7 Oz Got him on a four inch senko. I also got a couple bass around this size The one above was caught on a zoom super fluke.

Seriouly Why guys?
I can understand people doing this. Some of these guys have fished their whole lives and finally found "the spot" that produces. The waters containing big fish are drawing more and more anglers every year. I wouldn't want to work hard to find a spot and then post where it is so some guy who fishes twice a year catches big mama. Yes but why do you care if he catches a BIG FISH out of that spot as long as he releases it. Id be pretty angry if someone came to a spot I regularly catch big fish and was taking them home.. If they release the fish they catch I do not see why it matters though. Also 90% of the fishermen on this forum are catch and release guys and I notice some people will even attack a new person to the site who posts a kitchen or garage shot of a bass. Thats how much the anglers on this board seem to care about catch and release....

Seriouly Why guys?
I honestly do not intend to open up a can of worms creating this thread but I probably will I honestly do not get some of the things some people do when they post on this forum. There are two things I would like to address and I do not look down on the people who do these things I just do not understand it. First off I often do not get why some people refuse to say what bait they used to catch their bass? I mean I am glad to share what baits I am catching fish with and I am also glad to say what baits are not working. I like to help other anglers catch fish not take all the fish for myself. The only time I would not give up what baits are working is if I was preparing for a bass tourney and was competing against other fishermen on this forum. Also why do people chose to smudge the background out of the pictures they take? I honestly do not mind telling people what spots are producing unless they tend to keep fish. 90% of the people on this forum are catch and release anglers though so why does it matter?

6/6/08 Fishing Report.... 7 bass in 2.5 hours
Had a great outing today. A while back I lost my digital scale, just left it at the lake and just bought a NEW one today. Wanted to start weighing fish again so I went fishing. Started at around 2:30 and I got off the lake at around 5. I often tend to struggle fishing if its not late in the evening or early in the morning but NOT today.... On my very first cast I tossed my 4 inch green weightless senko into the reeds at the back of the lake. Twitched is a few times and got hit right away.... Ended up with this bass that went 2 LBS 6 OZ After this I decided to fish a rapala original floating jerk bait for a while and caught two dinks of around a pound each. I then went back to my green senko and made a long cast past a point in the pond. Just like on the first cast after I twitched the bait a couple times I got a hit and caught this bass.... He went EXACTLY 3 LBS. A couple casts later I caught another dink on the senko... Later in the day I decided to try out a bait I have had for a while the stom Kickin Minnow. I caught my first bass on the lure just casting it into the middle of nowhere for no reason.... The fish ended up going 2 LBS 7 OZ. For the last hour I realy did not catch anything... However on my last cast in a corner pocket of of the pond where there is a deep drop off I caught the last fish of the day. He went 2 LBS 3 OZ and was caught on a zoom fluke which I was fishing pretty slowly.... Yeah it was a great outing. However it was missing one thing which was a big HAWG of a bass. I realy do not know if that little pond has and huge bass though. Its a very small pond which you can walk around in under 10 minutes and I have only ever seen two bass over 5 LBS swimming. It does have some huge koi carp though. The koi in my avatar was 12 LBS 11 OZ and was caught out of that same pond. Maybe the bass in that pond are of the northern strain and just do not get that big. Or maybe the small pond restricts their growth. I know the bass are not stunted though since all the bass I do catch out of there are healthy looking fish. There are also plenty of bluegills for the m to feed on

Your Skunkbuster bait?
Hey guys lets say you have been fishing for a long time and cannot get the bass to bite. What do you do at this point? What lure do you tie on that you know will work no matter what? My skunk buster bait would be a 4-6 inch roboworm. There are certain parts of every lake I fish where I can throw one of these out work it a little and will ALWAYS catch a bass. Yeah the bass I catch in those spots with this lure might be dinks but at least I can say I caught something. What are you guys skunk buster baits?

Nice bass with a BIG OLE carp on TOPWATER
I once caught a carp on a rattle trap (not foul hooked). I also once caught a carp on a finess worm. Never heard of anyone catching one on a topwater though.... that impressive.
-
Banjo minnow
They will work yes. Thing is they are pretty much the exact same bait as the zoom super fluke. Yes they look different but have pretty much the same action. They work just as good as the super fluke i bet...however the super fluke is about 10 times less the amount of money.... Yeah in future just buy super flukes and save some money.

fun with my little emily tonight
Those are some nice cats she caught. How much did they weigh? They look to be good sized. Did she catch those herself or did you help her?
-
How much??
4-5 LBS.. kinda skinny nice fish

What used to work for you...but don't anymore
At different times of the year bass will hit some lures but not others. Under certain conditions a bass will hit one lure and not another one. However there are certain lures which I feel should work at the times I throw them that I cant get anything on. I have only caught two bass on topwater lures this whole year. I have been throwing them in the evening and morning when there is no wind and the bass just dont want them. I have no idea why. I mean this time of year should be the time they work well....

First report in a while...some good pics...
Well I have not been fishing much recently or posted a report in forever. However I did go fishing each day for the last few days and decided to post some pictures from my outings.... Today I got out in the morning and managed 5 bass total. Three of them were in the 1-1.5 LB range... However I did catch these two pretty nice fish... This was the first one... Funny thing about these fish is that they came 3 casts appart from each other in the exact same spot on the exact same lure... A 4 inch green Senko... Got this bass yesterday on a Jerk Bait. He is the biggest fish of the last week. Funny thing is I actually Sight fished him with the Jerk Bait. There were three bass around the same size swimming quite far out. The water was clear so I could see them well though.. Usually when you throw a jerk bait at bass that are just cruising around they will either spook off or ignore it when it comes past them... Well this one just came up and hammered it. This was an interesting one. I was throwing a 6 inch purple roboworm and ended up catching a decent size channel catfish. Always nice to catch something your not fishing for as a surprise you know.

Sons first
Thats like double the size of my first one...

619s NEW PB!!!!!!
Nice.... I fished that exact same spot you are standing last night for catfish and ended up catching three of them. Biggest one was about 4 LBS. That spot is great for cats.

PB! PB! PB! YEAAAA!!!
Great picture man. When I first saw the pic of the bass and had not seen the pic of the scale or read what you said about I assumed that bass was in the 10-11 LB range... Realy nice pic

dont understand what he was thinking
Sounds like those bass were preparing a bed for spawn. They were sitting in one spot and kept messing with the bottom of the lake right? In this situation stick to lures that sit on the bottom. The best way to target these two bass would just be to harrass them and get them so mad they attack your bait out of anger. You can try plastics, jigs, chatterbaits, even flukes and senkos for these bass. Keep harrassing the area they are makeing the bed. Sometimes even nudgeing the bass with the lure will provoke them to hit it. Also keep in mind these bass will usually mouth the lure then spit it out instrantly the first few times they attack it. Wait for the bass to fully eat the bait then set the hook. You will most likely not have much time to set the hook even when he does eat it since he most likely just wants to move the bait 5 feet away from his nest then spit it out again. Hope this helps...

Bill Dance In Florida?????
Just Chill guys... Bill dance can fish a normal lake... he has done well in pro tourneys.... The thing about his show is hes targeting novice anglers who do not know that much. Hes fishing a private lake to show the newbies that watch his show the basics of how to fish certain lures and stuff like that. Yes it is easy to catch bass in the lakes he is fishing. I agree there but you have to understand his aim is to show novice anglers what they are doing. Hel demonstrate style of fishing, explain it well, and the new angler will see him catch a nice 5LB bass with it. This will make the novice angler want to go out and try that style of fishing he did on his show. Yes bill dance might "cheat" by fishing a lake where he is the only angler to catch lunkers.....however bill dance is also the guy who taught a lot of people the basics of fishing when they first started out....

New PB ?
Hey man what I dont get is that you already had the swiss record with that 7.9 LBer but you never got it certified. You probably would have set the record for your country again with this bass, its probably just as big if you got it certified. Do you like not care about getting your name in your countries record books? Yeah I fish for fun too but if I even catch a lake record fish id get it made official....

12 and 15lbers!!!!!
How do Pike and Muskie fight? In San Diego we do not have those types of fish and I think they would fight pretty differently to most fish because of their snake like long bodies?
