A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
NICE FISH Shane!! I got out myself this Sunday from 11-4. I marked a ton of fish at the 18 ft range on my fishfinder, but I only got 4 to bite. 3 nice largemouth, and my last fish was a decent smallie. Glad to see others are still out there. Good luck!

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
I got out from around 11:30am to 3:00pm today on a small pond in Sutton that is loaded with bass. Me and my buddy probably caught about 20 bass total, mostly on senkos, suspending jerkbaits and tubes. I was suprised at how shallow the bass were hanging out. Most were in less that 3 feet of water.. The water temp was 52 degress. Good luck whovever is still at it!.

I'm guesing, but i think jerkbaits and jigs would probably be doing pretty well. Also grubs on jig heads could be effective for smallies.

Those are all awesome places to fish (I think the Halfmoon Pond you are talking about is in Hancock?). Did you try fishing offshore structure once the summer got really hot? I was having a lot of luck fishing deeper around depth changes with lizards on jig heads and senkos wacky style on a jig head.

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
I got out with my buddy Matt yesterday. We fished from about 2:00pm to 5:30pm. It was a suprisingly good afternoon. We caught fish in about 8 feet of water, and the water temp ranged from 52 to 55. Most of my fish were caught on a green pumpkin KVD swim jig with a GY crawdad trailer. Matt caught all of his fish on a 3" green pumpkin sticko and a black rip lip worm. Most of my fish were caught around depth change warning markers, and most of Matt's fish were caught just off the shore. No real patttern, but we each caught 6 fish and were psyched about it!

Yeah, I have not had a chance to get out, but with the weather warming up for the next few days, I'm gonna get out there as much as possible before everything freezes. Tight lines all!

Hey everyone Got out on Sunday at a smallie pond in Hillsboro. Fished from 12-4 and only caught 3 fish. 2 were good sized smallies, and one was a MONSTER pickeral. I have no idea how much it weighed, but it was big enough to scare me. Maybe a little over 3 1/2 pounds? Everything was caught on senkos...nothing else was working, and I tried everything!

Yeah, I love those types of ponds early in the spring, and later in the fall when I'm desperate and need a quick fix Got out yesterday to a pond in Newbury and did well. Caught a lot of largemouth, and a few smalies. Nothing over 2.5 pounds, but it was cnice to be out there. Most fish were caught on senkos and a KVD green pumpkin swim jig with a crawdad trailer.

Nice fish for your dad wagn...dang! My buddy and I got out two days ago at a small pond in Sutton that's loaded with bass. We probably caught 20 each within 3 hours. It was non-stop action on anything I tied on, except a jig. Senkos, tubes, crankbaits, jerkbaits, spinners, grubs...everything. The biggest was probably just around 2 pounds, but it wwas fun to catch a lot of fish in a short time, even if a lot were small. Good luck everyone!

Yeah, I got outthis weekend and it was a little slow. Caught 3 largemouth and a pickeral in 2 hours of fishing early Friday morning at Upper Pond in Henniker. They were biting senkos, but I had the best luck on a black and blue KVD swim jig with a GY crawdad trailer. Went out for a few hours yesterday. Did OK, only catching 1 smallmouth. Water temp was close to 62 degrees and the fish were not too happy about that and extremely high pressure/no clouds. Tight lines everyone!

your 7 pounder is missing part of it's tail. What was big enough to try and eat that??!! Nice catch!

Nice hawgs wagn! I've only gotten out a couple times over the past three weeks. I had a great day last Friday catching a couple 4 pounders and a bunch of 2 pounders..all largemouth on senkos in deeper water around cover. Hoping to get out again this week. Tight lines all!

Any New Hampshire fisher man here?
yeah, what bassmaster and unh said. We're all pretty friendly and love to catch them bass. Depending on where you are and your boat status, I'm sure you can pick up a fishing buddy!

Nice hawg Shane! Me and my friend Matt got out on Friday morning for a while. Great fishing and I caught a 3 lb 2 oz smallie on a senko off of a big rock. Beautiful fat fish that put upa great fight. Here's a pic: edited to add: got out this AM and dd great on senkos, creature baits and a new brand of senko that's made in Hancock NH called "Kirbooter" baits. The tckle store was out of senkos in green pumpkin, but they had those. I'm very impressed. Really soft plastic, and casts just like a senko. Sadly, they are not much more durable, but they were what I caught the 4 lb'er above on.

WOW! Nice fish UNH!!! Very impressive! I do not think we saw a six pound + fish all year last year on this board (maybe you had one wagn??), and this year we've had wagn's 7 pounder, my 6 pound 13 oz and now your 6 pound 12 oz'er. Awesome! I've been using a round, exposed jig head. No weedguard or anything like that, but I'm considering getting some with a guard so I can fish more effectively around the weeds. Also, I have not lost a jig head in the rocks or like I expected. It's pretty easy to pop off of rocks when it gets hung up.

NIce fish wagn! I got out today at a little pond in Sutton. Did great catching numerous 2-3 pound fish all morning. Biggest were a 4 pound 3 oz lagemouth (pictured) and a new PB smallie at 3 pounds 2 oz (pictured). All fish were caught on senkos and lizards on a jig head in deeper water around boulders. Great morning of fishing!!

I went out today after work. I had a great time catching smallies on spinners and senkos. Around 6:30pm, I caught this five pound largemouth on a 5" senko off a submerged brush pile. A kayaker just happened to be going by and was nice enough to take a picture for me: Good luck everyone!

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
Yeah, I'm just too attached to this thread to not post here. It does seem weird to have two threads for NH, but I guess we are just that cool. 8-) Anyway, I went out today and had a good time. Caught about 8 smallies on senkos fished around deep water structure, or incredibly tight to shore in water less than a foot. Also around pads and some grass in deeper water.

Best portable fish finder?
OK, as I mentioned above, I got the 383c which comes with GPS. I'm just fishing from the canoe right now, so I have not been out on anything bigger than 150 acres, but the unit is awesome. I've already caught a ton of fish that I would have never seen without the unit. On Sunday me and a buddy went out to the local smallmouth spot that I've been fishing for three years. I knew there was a high spot coing out of deep water in the left corner of the pond. Using the unit I was able to floow the rock line all the way out to the middle of the pond. I would just find some bottom structure with some fish on it, stop the boat and toss out a senko. I caught more fish this way than I could believe. It just seemed like some of these fish had not seen a lure in a while. I'm going out again today to a bigger and deeer pond where I've had trouble locating the smallies since they left the shallower water. I'll let y'all know how it goes. So far though, I'm VERY impressed. It's already paid for itself in my book.

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
That is not a bad idea at all. That southern NH thread got started this year, and it's been tough to decide where to post. I've been posting in this thread for three years, so I'm having trouble breaking the habit. in fact, here's my fishing report. Pretty good luck all weekend. I caught a lot of big smallmouth and a few largemouth as well. Most of the fish were caugth in deep water around structure.

d**n, Marc Hamel can come fishing with me anytime. I wonder if that's the same as the guy who played Luke Skywalker. He seems to fish like a jedi from his weights.

Best portable fish finder?
Anyone have an opinion on whats the best portable fish finder with or without waypoint capability? I've been looking at the Hummingbird 343c and 383c. The 383 is a little steep, but I do not mind dropping the $ if it's going to be worth it. I'm confused if the 343c has the capability to mark waypoints, or if it's just a fish finder. I'm pretty new to fishing electronics, so I'm clueless. I'm just getting a portable because I'm only fishing from a canoe right now. I mostly fish for smallmouth in NH and am dying to find where all the big ones have gone. Thanks!
