  1. It sounds like they are breaking the law to me. Maybe you should drop Fish and Game a line. These people did not make out well: Fishermen charged in 'Operation Panfish Plunder' By PAT GROSSMITH New Hampshire Union Leader Staff Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010 CONCORD Three men are facing federal charges accusing them of operating a commercial fishing business that relied on overfishing the Connecticut River in Vermont and New Hampshire and selling the catch in New York. The men were arrested at the conclusion of a federal and interstate investigation nicknamed "Operation Panfish Plunder." Richard Webster of Rutland, Vt., Ronald Martel and Garth Martel, both of Whitehall, NY were arraigned Tuesday in U.S. District Court on charges they violated the U.S. Lacey Act Wildlife Trafficking provisions and for conspiracy to violate the U.S. Lacey Act. Special Agent Bryan Landry of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service said the investigation began in New Hampshire after recreational fishermen complained to state Fish & Game about the men fishing as a group, exceeding the 50-fish a day limit and operating a commercial business. According to state Fish & Game, during the past ice season between December 2009 and April the trio participated in the illegal commercialization and gross over-limit fishing of recreational freshwater fish from New Hampshire and Vermont waters. The men caught black crappie, yellow perch, white perch and sunfish (bluegill) - collectively referred to as panfish - from the Connnecticut River in excess of fishing limits, according to indictments. They then allegedly transported the fish to New York where they sold it to Honey's Sporting Goods in Whitehall. Landry said the men allegedly operated the business over several ice fishing seasons. According to poststar.com, on May 6 officers from at least five agencies searched the bait and tackle store as part of the interstate investigation into illegal fish sales. The joint investigation involved U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, New York Department of Environmental Conservation, New Hampshire Fish & Game, Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department and the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of New Hampshire
  2. OK. Here is the current list. I'll keep the spot in my boat open to ensure we have at least one free seat. Boats Jay Shane(and Badcrawdad) wagn and Dad Boatless: NHFisher NHFroggin Maybe's: fmoore pudmunk NHBassmaster and here's a pic of the last 4+ I caught at Massesecum:
  3. No, I was at the Deering Reservior . I wanted to go to Massesecum, but I knew there was a tourney there yeserday so I stayed away. I thnk I've only caught one or two smallies at Massesecum lately. Slow summer overall for me with the bigger SMB's. I've been loving Yaamoto or Gitizit tubes on an 1/8th oz jig head. It seems like the fish this year are having a tough time resisting it, especially earlier in the moring. Yesterday they were in about 15 FOW, hitting it on the fall. The biggest SMB came on a senko tossed under an overhanging tree above 3 FOW...go figure!
  4. the smallie bite has been tough this year. Most have moved deep, and are tough to find. Massesecum has a good pupulaton, but it gts pretty darn busy. I managed to have a good morning yesterday. Caught 6 SMB's from 7-11am. One was about 3 pounds, and was the biggest smallie I've caught this year since spawn. Most were caught on tubes, lizards or senkos.
  5. It's great to see people doing well!!! Nice fish everyone! I got out last night in Sutton on a small pond. Did pretty welll catching about 6 LMB each in a few hours before the sun went down. Mostly everything on 5" senkos, and the biggest was just over three.
  6. Yeah, we will do it no matter how many or few people we have. I'm sure wagn will join in but I think he has been away for a bit. We could move it to a Saturday if that would help more people be able to make it...
  7. NIce fish NHbassmaster. Do you mind me asking where in Maine you went? I'm fronm the North Conway region, and I've fished a lot in Maine. I got ourt yesterday for a few hours in the AM. It was pretty cloudy, cold and windy until the sum came out. The swmallies wouldnot cooperate until around 9:00am, and I caught 6 in a row in deeper water with a GY baby lizard, adn then caught 2 more off some shallow pads near deeper water. Nothing huge, but good action for a short trip.
  8. OK. Here's the initial list. Please corrrect me if I'm wrong: Boats Jay Shane(and Badcrawdad) Boatless: nashua fisherman pudmunk NHFisher NHFroggin
  9. It's good, but it can get busy there this time of year. There are more LMB's than SMB's in there from what I have seen. good luck! I got out yesterday moring and had a great time from 7am-2pm. caught about 11 LMB's with 4 of them being over 3 pounds. None over 4, but it was still a great morning with good action. Everything on a 5 " senko. Could not buy a bite on anything else.
  10. OK guys, that was so much fun last time, lets get this going at least one more time before the season is over on a lake that has some serious fish. I'm thinking of Lake Massesecum in Bradford on August 27, 2010. Meet up at 7:30-8:00am and fish until around 2:00pm. All this is negotiable, so please feel free to speak up with alternitive lakes/times/dates. Hope to see everyone there!
  11. Pretty much anything will work there. That place is absolutely LOADED with bass. I've never caught a really big fish there, but you should encounter non-stop action while you're fishing. I'd use green pumpkin senoks, F-9 Rapala in Perch pattern, and tubes of any type. Have a great time!! I"m from that area and wish I still lived there.
  12. Nice Hawgs!!!!! I've put up a new post for another get together. Here's a link: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1281530494/0
  13. I got out on Friday at Massesecum and did pretty well. Caught a bunch of LMB's and a couple SMB's, but nothing over 2 pounds. Same for yesterday. Good action, but nothing over 2.
  14. nice pics dude! That is one happy child!! Nice work!!
  15. I'd bet early mornings, later evenings and mid afternoon for the pads. They will be on the edges in the AM and PM, and directly under them during the heat ofthe day if there is no deeper water to go to.
  16. I've never fished it, but I've heard great things about it. godo trout/salmon as well as SMB and LMB. HEre's a link to the NH Map of it Good luck!! http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Fishing/bathy_maps/merrymeeting_newdurham.pdf
  17. Nice job UNH! That's the way to do it! I got out yesterday in the Nitro from 6-1:30pm in Bradford. Did well catching a decent amount of SMB's and LMB's on pretty much everything thrown out. No real pattern and it was slower than I expected, but it was still a beautiful moring on the water. Beats working!
  18. Nice job guys!! You're making me jealous. I have not been out since Friday and I'm getting itchy!!
  19. Nice fish you two!! Excellent work!! I got out with my buddy this AM on Halfmoon Pond in Hancock. We caught a lot of 2-3 pound fish from 6:30am-11:00am. Probably about 8 each. We caught most of the just on the weedline with senkos, craw-worms, fat ikas, tubes and creature baits. fun morning in the canoe before the rain. and I've installed my new trolling motor on the nitro and I'm ready for action!!
  20. No, we were at a little pond in Hillsboro. I just checked the wind speed and it was 29 MPH at one point in the storm on the lake I was at. My canoe was almost surfing the whitecaps heading back to the launch.
  21. Yeah, I caught more perch that morning than I have in my whole life. There were some good sized ones in there.
  22. Thanks guys! I got back out this evening with my buddy Matt. It was great fishing right from the start with a SMB double. We went on catching fish in deep water (20+ feet) on tubes and senkos for quite a while until the bad weather started to move in. We only made it about halfway back to the launch before the 30 mph winds, thunder, lightning and downpours started. It was pretty crazy, but we made it back safely. The rain I can handle, but the lightning was a little scary.
  23. Nice fish fmoore! got out this AM in the canoe because my trolling motor is out of service. I was glad it was because I caught two 3+ponders and a 4+ . Good moring for a few hours before the wind came in.
