Grassy Pond In Rindge,nh
stopped by there this afternoon for you UNH after picking up my daughter from daycare down the street. Looks good. There was a couple people trying to get their jet ski onto their trailer. That would have been annoying to fish around on such a small pond, but otherwise it looked nice. Plenty of room to park and turn around with the tracker. VERY shallow though. I've been wanting to hit there myself since I moved out to Peterborough. I may hit it tomorrow, but I've been wanting to hit the smallies so I'm not sure. If I do, I'll let you know how it was.

no problem Tom. Just make sure you go to the boat launch and not the state park or you will have to pay. You can launch and fish for free if you just stay out of the state park and just park at the boat launch.

Supposed to be good fishing, but it's pretty busy in the summer.

Hey Tom, I have not been on much lately with a little one at home, but if you drive to Otter Lake I think you should have some good luck there. It's SMB and LMB's, and there is cover everywhere.

I think Turee Pond in Bow is pretty decent. Wagn caught a monster there. I'm on vacation for the next 10 days. All of which I plan to spend on the water, rain or shine.

I'd be using a soft plastic or jig this time of year in shallow water. Color depending on the water clarity. Otherwise, I've never fished it. good luck!

Got out on friday and it wsa prespawn madness. All the smallies had moved out of their winter holding areas and were hanging around boulders in 5-10 FOW on sharp dropoffs and rocky flats. All the LMB's were tight against the shore or on wood/dock cover. Several fish that I caught had at least three other fish with them. Everything on a green craw bitsy bug. Maybe 30 fish overall. Here is a pic of the biggest..4LB LMB.

You're brave for going out there today Matt! fmoore and I got out Tuesday on Spofford. He caught a nice LMB and a smaller pike. The bite was really tough. We saw a decent amount of fish suspended, and some followers, but they were exceptionally spooky overall with the bright sun and lack of wind.

Nice fattie fmoore. I'm looking forward to this week..I'd like to catch my first trout of the year soon. I got out on Otter Lake yesterday morning. Got 5 LMB in pretty strong wind and some rain in the canoe for my first trip of the season with it. All fish on the tube again in over 10 FOW. Water temp was 48 deg by the end of the morning.

I got out yesterday and finally had a great day. I really needed it. When I got to the lake it was 40 degress outside, and the water temp was 39.8 with ice still on the lake. In fact, there was still ice on the lake at the end of the day, and the highest water temps we saw were 44 at 5:30pm. Needless to say, I was not encouraged. I caught a 2.5 LMB around 12:30 on a wacky rigged senko being sloooowly dragged across the bottom. I then caught a fish off a new tree in the water with a bitsty big. Then I found a spot that must have been no more than 5 feet across in about 13 FOW. I was just casting into the deeper water with a tube hoping they were still mostly deeper, and I caught 2, 3 pound LMB in a row. Came back in the afternoon and caught another 2, 3lb LMB in the exact same area. No structure from what I could tell, but there was some new grass. It was awesome. I caught 7 LMB total, none less than 2.5 pounds.

Well, the consensus is that we should push it back. I'm really sorry Matt that you already took the day off. I'll start a new list soon with everyone who can make it.

That's too bad Shane, but it sounds like it's for a good reason. I drove by Stumpfield today, and the water level is VERY high right now. It must be due to the recent rain. The road is also still closed to anything but local traffic. It looks like it might get a little warmer this week, but I think no matter where we go we are looking a some very cold water temps at any lakewe go to. How do people feel about pushing this out a couple weeks until 5/7/11. That would give the water a little time to warm up and make the fishing a little better. I'm willing to give it a shot, but I think the temps will be in the 40's there due to the high water. I might have a potential conflict this weekend as well, so it would be better for me to push it out a couple weeks. Regardless, I'll do whatever you guys want to do.

Yeah, I agree fmoore. We really need a warm week, or at least a really hard warm rainy patch of weather for the fishing to pick up. Hope you had some luck this afternoon!

I'd be up for Pawtuckaway. I've never fished it, but I've always wanted to. I guess we may just have to assume any place is going to be busy on a Saturday and just pick a big enough place where it should not matter. Pawtuckaway and Stumpfield should both fit.

Well, Great Pond seems like it could indeed, be great. The only issues are 1. distance. It's a good 1.5 hour drive for me. 2. It gets busy, and on a Saturday, it might be super busy. I'll be driving by Stumpfield MOnday. I'll let you know how it looks. It's pretty shallow there, so it should warm up fast anyway.

It was nice seeing you as well nhfroggin. BTW, your lady must LOVE you to put up with that weather! I could NEVER have gotten my wife in the boat yesterday. Water temp was about 50-53 for most of the lake unh. I'm not sure why, but I've hard a real hard time this spring. The best day I had so far was with fmoore on the river, and even then it was VERY slow until we found a shallow warm area where the water temp was closer to 60. I think this slow spring is making them sluggish. We need to get these water temps closer to 55-60 degrees

got out on great Pond today in some BRUTAL wind and very cold temps. No fish at all for me or my buddy. Got to see nhfroggin, and I think we found a really promising pond overall.

yeah, I really should have said the water temp was that high where we were fishing in the shallow areas. That sounds like a plan to me fmoore. LOL at that graph..no wonder!!!!

fmoore and I got out on the Ct. River out of Hinsdale yesterday from 2pm to 8pm. It was a beautiful day, and the water temp was in the mid 50's for most of the river. Higher in some spots! We had a blast. Started real slow, but we caught about 10 overal. I saw "we", but it was mostly fmoore putting a hurting on them. He caught a huge smallie right off, and then it was all LMB after that. I think everything both of us caught was on a bitsy flip in green pumpkin or black/blue. Here's a pic of fmoore with the big smallie:

this sounds promising. Hey Matt, I may also be at Great Pond on friday with my friend Matty. We should link up if we are there at the same time. I'll probably be there around 8:00am or so.

OK guys, sorry for the slacking. Here is the current list: List so far: Boaters w/ seat: TripleD, fmoore, Shane (not there until 2ish), NHfroggin(?) Boats w/o seat: Jay anmd Matt, wagn, nhbassin w/clr9933, badcrwdad and buddy, NHbassmaster2(?) non-boaters needing seats: bwillis(?), nixstyx(?), pudmunk(?), NH fisher, Klubba T If there is a (?) it means I'm not sure (or you're not sure) about your boat/seat status. Once you know if you are coming, please either send me a PM or just post your status. It's looking like I may have an open seat in the Nitro, but I'm not positive yet. I was thinking about Great Pond in Kingston. It's supposed to be great. Anyone fished it?
