  1. Thats awesome man. We have to get out there soon! NIce stripers fmoore...now that's some fishing I have to try, and soon.
  2. I had a fair day at FP. I was hitting it after two tourneys on the weekend, and a cold front had just moved in. I could barely make out the beds on the bottom because of the low light and the wind, and the bite just seemed off compared to previous years. I've loved that place in the spring the last two years when I lived in Hillsboro, but it was not a great day. I caught a good amount of fish, but only a few big smallies off of beds I knew from previous years. No big LMB's, and there are a lot in there. I might have just been having an off day.
  3. Wow Shane...those are quite the pigs! Excellent work!! Fmooore, that thing is a monster! I lost a LC jerkbait to a giant there last week out by the sandbar/frog that looked about the same size when it jumped trying to throw my bait after it cut me off. Spofford has such a sick pike population. I've gotta go there soon and just fish for one of those. I've been out a bunch the two week prior to memorial day because I was on vacation. I hit Spofford a couple times, Newfound, Franklin Pierce, Island Pond and a few other spots. It was sick fishing the entire time. Highlights inclded 4+ pound smallies at Newfound on jerkbaits and off beds at Spofford, as well as 5 lb + LMB's at Spofford. I really have to say that I loved Newfound and cannot wait to go back. It really has been a great spirng and I'm looking forward to the post spawn bite!
  4. Nice job! Any size to the smallies there? I've always wanted to fish Statutakee...does it look like I could launch my nitro and have room to park the truck and trailer? I've seen the launch area, and it did not look too big.
  5. I'm not sure if anyone has been here yet, but it looks nice!
  6. Yeah I agree. Downsize. I'm sure the water is clear so just match any color plastic you use to the bottom of the lake. You may have to fish a little faster with a spinnerbait as well in the clear water. I'm sure you will kill it! Good luck.
  7. It has both species you mentioned, and may possibly be the most fished pond I have ever seen. It's just incredible how many people fish that pond. It seems like there is always at least two boats on it, and it's tiny. Most people are fishing for trout so the bass should be all yours, and there are some big ones from what I've heard. For me, there are so many better, less busy places in the Weare/Henniker/Hillsboro area that I don't even bother with it.
  8. Nice job on Cunningham! Be careful parking there in the lot if you are not a Peterborough resident. I've heard they can be pretty tough and it's supposedly residents only. I'm assuming they do not care too much until after Memorial Day. I got out yesterday as well and hit the smallies pretty well. Water temp was 58-60 and there were some beds around, but I found them mostly on/around wood. good luck everyone!
  9. I've just got no idea how i missed this whole thread. I would have tried to make it. oh well! I think Shane can find the big ones anywhere....
  10. I have no idea how I missed this thread...whoops! Nice bass Shane!!
  11. Yeah, I know the feeling with a little one at home. I'm wide open to any suggestions. Stumpfield is currently still on the table as an option. Looked like it had a decent amount of water for how dry it's been.
  12. yeah, mine is a 90, so I would have to rent as well. If you do a litttle research about the Quabbin, it may change your mind Im also always open to ideas if anyone has a good lake in mind.
  13. Thanks Shane...I'm loving the jig this spring. Hey guys...we should probably set up a NH 2012 Get Together soon...maybe at Stumpfield? I was also thinking of doing the meetup at the Quabbin Reservior in MA. You cannot have anything over a 20 hp stroke/25 hp 4 stroke, so a lot of us may have to rent boats. No jon boats or canoes allowed either. We would also have to buy a 1 day license, but I have heard it is well worth it. I was thinking of doing it the 3rd week in May, so please chime in if you are interested.
  14. Hey guys we got out this weekend. Water temp was 50-55 and the fish really started biting the jig in the early to late afternoon. Caught the 4 lb 6 oz in the morning on the jig as well. I wish there was a better pic than this cell phone one..she had a really full belly of eggs. Tight lines all.
  15. SSounds like a true Mainer Smallie fishing in Maine...mmm mmm good! My vote is for Newfound. GIANTS! Spoffords pretty awesome as well.
  16. Beautiful fish guys...good going to Shane especially!! Killing 'um early! That's what I like to see.
  17. I got out yesterday and had a great day. All the fish were in full prespawn patterns. Biggest LMB around 4lbs and a few good sized smallies as well. Everything on a black and blue jig.
  18. Wow! Nice job guys. I'm very impressed..and dying to get on the water!!
  19. NIce job bassmaster!! Most water over here is open as well.
  20. thanks nhbasssin. They were close to the biggest smallies I have ever caught. Nice hawg!!!! That's a beauty! I got out again yesterday with close to the same results except my big ones came unbuttoned at the boat. I did land a 4 pound LMB though and about 10 smallies. The fishing has really picked up the last week or so. Bring on the fall!!
  21. Hey guys, it's been really tough for me to get out this year with an 8 month old at home, but I got out yesterday with my buddy in the canoe on my favorite smallie spot and had a great time. I caught both these pigs, that were 3.32lbs and 4.2lbs respectively. They were in in less than a foot of water right against the shore. I caught them both with a senko. My buddy caught one around 3lbs on a skitter pop in 6 inches of water. They are moving shallow again!!
  22. There might be enough parking for that many people. You just have to take exit 5 off of Route 89 heading towards Hillsborough/Keene. After you go over the bridge, take your first right. Follow that down 1/2 mile or so onto the dirt road and just follow the boat launch signs. There is a ton of parking, but the ramp is a bit rough. I hope I got to post this early enough!
  23. the saco is really more of a trout river...I'm actually from North Conway. Sorry I did not see your post before. There are some good bass ponds and lakes up there.
