  1. Hey everyone; It looks like folks are itching to do another get together. That sounds fun to me!! I'm thinking of a few different places. We could do Hopkinton again, or we could do Franklin Pierce in Hillsboro. It's a big lake with a fantastic launch area. We could also do Massasecum in Bradford. All have good populations of fish...LMB and SMB. Frankilin Pierce also has pike, trout, etc... If anyone wants to suggest a lake or a series of dates, please feel free. I'm wide open on the weekends and fridays for the most part. I think we should do it on a Friday if possible to avoid as much boat traffic as possible. I'm also game for a a more northern lake like Winnisquam or Newfound Lake, or a little honey hole that I know up near North Conway. As far as a date and time, I"m thinking Friday july 16, 2010 at 8:00am. That could change beased on everyone's availabliity.
  2. Hey everyone..I started a new NH Get Together thread. Here is a link: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1277293844 Hey guys, got out on Franklin Pierce last night for a couple hours. Caught this 5 pounder with my first cast: also caught a nice 2.5 pound smallie on topwater (Rapala F-9), and my buddy did well also. great night for just a couple hours before the rain.
  3. I t was very strange. The water was 65 degrees, but fish were acting like it was prespawn. The really odd thing was the size of the fish. I think the average was around 1 pound, maybe even less. It was a really strange day. My buddy did have a big one on near the end of the day on a 7 inch senko, but it came off near the boat.
  4. Nice dog fmoore. I used to have a black lab named Samson thsat looked a lot like him. Glad to see people have been doing well. It seems like the post spawn blues are slowly wearing offf around here. I hit Silver Lake yesterday and it was a lot of action, but everything was really small. Nothing over 2 pounds with about 40 fish caught. Got out this AM on Franlin Pierce from 7am-11pm. Caught about 4 largemouth (biggest 3.5 pounds)and a nice smallmouth. Had something huge (probably a pike) bite right through my line. I was using 10lb Trilene flourcarbon, which is ridiculously strong for 10lb test, and my line looked like someone used scissors on it. I would have liked to see the monster on the other end..it felt large.
  5. Thanks I was just coming back to edit the post to add the pic, but I'll just post it here: I'll tell you, I'm pretty sure I need a new scale. It looked like a five pounder when I caught it, and the pic makes me think it might be.
  6. got out on Massesecum at 8:00am this morning. Winds were blowing at least 10-15mph when I got there, and cranked up to what felt like 30 mph by the time I eventually left. I managed to catch a lot of good quality fish in boulders around the islands and surrounding points. The biggest was a 4 lb 9 oz beauty LMB that I caught in very shallow water just off a large rock at the point of a cove.
  7. NIce video man!! 120 bass is a d**n good day!!!!
  8. Hey Guys. glad to see everyone is having a good season so far! Nice cod fmoore! I have not been able to get out on the big boat because on Friday afternoon my trolling motor prop fell off after I towed someones pontoon boaat back to the launch for them. It was close to shore, so I used the trolling motor and the prop just fell off after I left and got to my spot. If it was a minn kota, I could have replaced it that day, but being a motorguide, I had to order it online. But, I managed to get out on Monday in the canoe and catch a bunch of smallies. The were suprisingly still near the beds, and the water temp was around 73 or so. The only bad part was the incredible amount of smoke in the air until about 12ish. I could barely see across the lake!
  9. Nice wagn! Glad you guys had fun!! got out this AM with my friend Matt in the canoe. caught my PB smallie at 3 lbs 3 oz. Here' a pic:
  10. Got out with wagn today and had a great time. Lots of smallies and bigger LMB's hanging around cover/docks. Good times and a beautiful day.
  11. Oh man, that place is my nemesis. I loved the look of it driving by, so I fished it during prespawn last year with my friend Matt on a cold and cloudy day in May. I caught a grand total of 3 bass, 1 pcikeral. My friend Matt caught about 8, 2 to 3 lb LMB's, all on a silver Joes Fly spinner. I was throwing basicly the same bait from the back fo the canoe with no results. I went back a month later by myself and had basicly the same results. 3 fish on a lucky craft jerkbait. Could not really find the fish and felt overwhelmed by the lack of any cover in the pond besides the shallow stumps. I think the fish roam around a lot in there, and it can be tough to find them unless they are on or near the beds. I've considered going back there at some point because it holds good fish. Do you know what the water temp was? On another note, had a good two days of vacation hammering the smallies.Good times!!
  12. Thanks guys! I think we should do it again sometime this summer around July/August. Maybe we can do it here in Hillsboro and use Franklin Pierce Lake. The launch is in, and it has a dock. Plus there is aa nice beach areaa for wives and kids who do not want to fish. The lake is really big and has lots of fish. The launch parking is for Hillsboro reisdents and guests. I live in Hillsboro, so that works. I'll post something when we get closer. I'm glad everyone had a good time!
  13. Nice job UNHBass. I knew you would start nailing 'em! Nice hog of a pike!!! Tell your buddy that's a little better than "stocky" fmoore After catching 5 bass in the Get together yesterday, I noticed the weather was getting really nice with no wind in the afternoon. I decided to go smallmouth bed fishing. Left the get together, drove home and dropped off the nitro, picked up the canoe and trolling motor, got on the water by 3:30pm, and caught about 15 smallies from 4:00pm-7:00pm. I caught most of them off their beds with senkos, but a couple were hanging around deeper boulders. Here's a pic of the first one: Here is a pic of the beautiful day just before sunset:
  14. My biggest bass was around 2.5 pounds. Here she is: My big bass of the morning: Fish #3 with wagn and Matt in background. Under the bridge fish:
  15. Nice pics! I'm glad everyone had a good time and caught fish. The big bonus was that the rain held off and it was no too wndy for most of the day. No stump marks on the nitro..thank goodness. That place is Prop Buster Centeral. I ended up catching 5 bass, and a crappie. All on t-rigged watermelon senkos. No pickeral, and I think that's weird!! My biggest bass was around 2.5 pounds. I'll post the pics later. Let's def. do it again soon!!
  16. Yeah, but that is showing "A" as being on the other side of the road. You want to exit onto Stumpfield Road on the other side of the road. Stumpfield Road crosses Route 9/202 If you are comiong off of Route 89 North or South, you want to take a right onto Stumpfield Road, and follow the road to the boat launch signs after you hit the dirt road. If you are coming from Route 9/202 from the West (Keene, Hillsboro, Henniker), you want to take a left onto Stumpfield Road. On that map you can see actually see where the launch is. follow that Road "A" is on north across the street and you can see where it bends to the left. The launch is about a 1/4 mile after that bend if you take the left.
  17. Your leader looks like string trimmer line. What was that stuff? I'm not sure. We chartered the boat for a half day, and the rods were all rigged. It was crazy thick..I could not beive how tough it was.
  18. Nice fish! I'm not a Vermonter, I'm from NH, but I like to fish way up north near Charleston Vt. Great smallmouth action.
  19. Nice job! Thanks unhbass! It did put up a huge fight, and I had blisters after catching two of them!
  20. See everyone at 8:00am at the launch. Pray for sunshine and low winds!!
  21. got out yesterday in the freezing wind in the canoe on one of my favorite places in Newbury. Managed to catch about 10 bass, but it was so cold that I left early to warm up. Water temp was 54-57 degress following these cold nights. There were abandonded beds all over the place. On another note, if anyone is interested, in March I went to the Bahamas and caught a 35 pound Mahi Mahi. Here' a pic since I have none to show for yesterday. Me and Elroy with the 45 inch Mahi Mahi
  22. Not sure what you mean, haha. I went to Mill Pond today though. Was windy, full of people, and I couldn't figure out where to park haha. Was pretty disappointing LOL! I quoted the wrong thread. I''m pretty sure it was NHBasstard that posted the Powder Mill map last year wagn.
