5/14/10 at 8:00am Get-together for NH Fisherman-EVERYONE'S INVITED!!
Hey Guys, 9:30am is fine with me. We could even push it to 10:00am if that makes it easier for you. This is a sure thing. If the lake we pick has issues, there are a few more lakes within a 10 to 15 minute drive that we could go to. All have good fishing, and I live across from \ a pond as well. I'm leaning heavily towards Powder Mill Pond or Franklin Pierce Lake. The access road to Hopkinton Lake had a closed sign on it on Monday. If we do it at Franklin Pierce, we can head ove to my place after for food/drinks. If we end up doing it at Powder Mill Pond, we can head to a little pizza place in Peterborough or Antrim after.

Anyone have any luck in SOUTHERN NH yet?
Hey guys got out yesterday in the canoe with my buddy Matt from 4;30pm - 6:30pm at a little pond loaded with small bass in Sutton. Caught about 20 LMB each , mostly on senkos, nothing over 2.5 pounds, but it was nice to have such fast action. Nice fish everyone!!!

5/14/10 at 8:00am Get-together for NH Fisherman-EVERYONE'S INVITED!!
I'm trying to put together a little get together/mini tourney for anyone who wants to meet up on Friday, May 14, 2010. I was thinking of doing it at Hopkinton Lake, Frankiln Pience Lake, or Powder Mill Pond. They are all big lakes with good ramps and plenty of parking. Franklin Pierce and Powder Mill also have plenty of space for a BBQ after we are done fishing, or we can head to a local spot for food and drinks. I've actually only fished Hopkinton Lake out of all of those, but they all have very diverse fisheries and good reputations. Please let me know as soon as possible if you want to come. My boat is probably full, but I think others may have some room. Tight lines everyone!

Anyone have any luck in SOUTHERN NH yet?
Hey everyone. Got out on my new rig yesterday for the first time. We went to Lake Massesecum. We fished from 4:00pm to 6:30pm and the water temp was reading 44 degrees. I caught a smallie on a t-rigged senko after 5 minutes of fishing near some boulders in the 10 ft range. Did not catch another fish until around 6:00pm and I caught two largemouth within five minutes of each other on wacky rigged senkos being dragged along the bottom. Both were pretty close to shore in about 5 feet of water near some overhaning trees. One was about 3.5 pounds, the other was about two pounds. My buddy Matt caught a nice 2 pounder as well. Overall decent time for a short outing in the new boat.

Dang man!! You catch some really big fish out of the Ct. River. I'm going to have to get some pointers!!! Maybe we should try and schedule an early get together this year. We could all meet up the first Friday in May at Franklin Pierce Lake in Hillsboro or Powder Mill Pond in Greenfield. Both have a LOT of parking for trailers and excellent/easy boat ramps. I've never fished either body of water but they both have good reputations. They are both huge and both have the potential for us to catch some pigs. I know Franklin Pierce has White Perch, Bass and Northern Pike as well as Trout. The same goes for Powder Mill Pond. Both lakes have tourneys on them during the summer. If people are interested, PM me and I'll start generating a list.

Nice trout dude! I'm going to be fishing Silver lake a lot this year I think. I've never been there, but with the nice launch and good fishing, I just have a feeling about it. Thanks everyone!! I'm psyched to get out. I have not gotten out there for a couple weeks due to my hectic schedule and crappy weather on Friday, but I'm hoping this week brings me the fish with the new rig. I'm already fishing this friday with wagn, but maybe next Friday guys! Or we could all meet up at Franklin Pierce Lake and just have a mini tourney!

Nice fish wagn!! You're already hammering them this year! I think I know that pond by looking at the shoreline. It's actually some sort of small state/town park right in Merrimack. It's pretty easy to find and I think there is a real launch there as well depending on where you enter the park. That is unless I'm confusing it for somewhere else. I got my new truck and bass rig yesterday (2010 Toyota Tacoma V6 and a 2001 Nitro NX 750DC with 90hp Merc). Here's some pics. I'm always up for fishing on fridays, and most weekends.

I'm in the same boat as you, But I did go out with Nashua Fisherman and caught some pickerel, Not the best but it was something. I hope things pick up soon. I still have not caught one bass yet this year. I went from killing them last year to them killing me now > From the year you had last year, you'll be on them soon enough!!! Tight lines all!

Anyone have any luck in SOUTHERN NH yet?
Hey everybody. Happy Easter! I could not get out today, but I did go out for a few hours at Gile Pond in Sutton yesterday. Water temps were in the mid 50's, but I could not find any fish that were biting. Hope y'all had a good weekend!

New to UNH need fishin spots
Hey bassinator, I went to UNH (about a million years ago) but I never did much fishing around there. I know there is good fishing in Nottingham in Pawtuckaway state park. You could also try fishing the Lamprry River in Newmarket. YOu could head out to College woods behind the football stadium. thee was a river out there that may have some fish in it. Some better spots would be Northwood Lake and North River Pond in Northwood. You could also hit up spots in Hampton for striper fishing. Good luck. Let me know if you have any other questions. Jay

Nice fish guys!! I got out today on my recently frozen favorite pond. Managed to catch a nice 2.5 pound smallie and a 4 pound pickeral. Not a ton of action with water in the 45 degree range, but it was still fun to be there.

I'd look on the NH fish and Game site as well. Rockingham has some goodspots, but I'm not too familiar with them.

Heading to the Bahamas-Nasssau in March-UPDATED-I'm back!
Just got back from Nassau yesterday, and it was a complete blast. We go out fishing twice. One day we chartered a boat with about 4 other people. We all caught fish, with a total of about 10 skipjack and yellowfin tuna. The boat was called the Kingfisher. The second day my wife and I chartered a boat for a half day from 1-5pm, for just the two of us. We had to make a pretty long run out to the fishing area (about an hour), but we managed to land one 45 inch Mahi-Mahi, and another slightly smaller one around 35 inches. Probably about 30-35 pounds and 15-20 pounds respectively. The bigger one put up a heck of a fight...I was suprised at how tough it really was. We kept some of the smaller fish and gave the bigger one to the boat. We brought it to a Lucianos and they cooked it for her. It was great! Here are a few pics. Enjoy! Me and my first tuna Me and Elroy with the 45 inch Mahi Mahi Me and my wife with the days catch:

Heading to the Bahamas-Nasssau in March-UPDATED-I'm back!
**I've just updated this thread instead of starting a new one. I've never been there, but the wife and I are heading to the Bahamas in March and we are staying athe Sheraton in Nassau. I'm really excited to try some salt water fishing down there. Does anyone have any helpful tips as far as what types of fish I should pursue, and any good ideas on guides/charters. I'm thinking I'd like to catch a tarpon and whatever else I can. Thank you so much for any help!
