Anyone use this line for flipping/worm or similar techniques? How does it perform?

What do you like it for?

What will you NEVER use this for?

Megastrike, only once, a long time ago I used this line, as a leader material. Granted, the formula has probably been changed since then, and even then, I might have just got a bad spool {mono, and its lame shelf life} but I broke off two nice bass, back to back, after never have had broken off any on several previous trips, when I used Seaguar. Just got the P Line Flouroclear in a pinch..... and it bit me !

It's cool.... I use my Tuf line for pretty much everything anyway, and I'm getting to not be too picky with my leaders.... B. Big Game, Maxima mean green, and of course, Seaguar are all fine.

The same thing happened to me about 2 years ago. I read all these great reviews for it and convinced my buddy to buy some too. (even though he is a die hard Stren mono guy) Long story short, we were both spooled up with this stuff and were breaking off multiple times on 2.5-3lbers on 10# test. My buddy was p.o.'d and giving me crap for weeks. Let's just say we're both not big fans of P-Line flouroclear.

I agree with Fish Chris. I have used 20# flouroclear for my offshore fishing and it worked fine with no major incidents, I have spools left over that I use for my freshwater leaders. My 30 and 40# leaders are cut from Ande or Big Game. For my offshore fishing I only use real leaders, I've given up on florocarbon.

Any type of fishing. The line cannot be trusted.

On the flipside of roadwarrior, I do trust the line. But I sincerely respect his opinions! :-) Learned a lot from reading his posts.

I only use mist green between 6-15 lbs, and only for leader material now-a-days. Pulled in plenty of bass (including 6lber in my avatar on 10lb test), not to mention plenty of heavy, water-logged branches.

To be sure for yourself, buy a spool and try it out. We all have horror-stories with various lines. One fisherman's fave is another's most-hated line.

I'm a big fan of P-line flouroclear! Granted I'm only using 6 & 8 lb test on my spinning outfits but I've never had a problem. I think it's a great line!

I've been snagged quite a few times and have had a hard time breaking it off.

This line is the WORST line I've EVER used...absolute junk! Totally agree with RW.

I've never seen line break so easily on hooksets. Save yourself some seething anger and look elsewhere.

+1. I use it in 6lb for my spinners and have for a couple of years. Great line. Only breakoff's I've had were big stripers around trees. Just not stout enough tackle to control them, not the lines fault.

Never tried it on a baitcaster in the bigger test strength line.

That makes perfect sense, break off on a 5# bass but holds a 40# kingfish, cobia or amberjack, I've caught 100# shark on that stuff and I use 20#. I'm not saying one can't get a bad lot of line, but I haven't. I'm not saying it's best line there is but I'm not saying it's the worse either. I have little or no issue with any lines I use.

I have not used Fluoroclear, but I can tell you knot type is critical with any type of Fluoro line. Also the best knot varies from Fuoro to Fluoro. I like P-Lines 100% Fluoro, and I use 8lb test for Dropshotting Perch in deep water. Now you know I am using a Polamer Knot and guess what? If I do not retie after a good day it will break at the knot. Now as a leader I use a modified Uni and I can pull my boat with it. Don't consider that line is junk with out trying numerous knots. Stretch and (relative) lack of abrasion resistance are the two things I never liked about this line.

i used to use fluoroclear. Never had issues with the handling....but the break offs (especially during hooksets) was just rediculous. I'm done with Fluoroclear

Used it all last year and never broke off once. Ever. 12lb test.

It's good like others have said with lighter spinning gear when you aren't setting the hook hard. I've had problems with break offs on hooksets with heavier lb tests for no apparent reason.
