What is your favorite line for a light spinning setup?

I use Trilene xl or Original stren 4# or 6# for my setups Stren being my favorite. Stren seems to hold up even after getting stretched and nicked.

My heavier setup is 8# stren megathin which I love.

What makes Nano so good?

I like Nano as well 6#. Great sensitivity, no stretch, line management, distance. It has cons too but so do most other lines. It just has a place for me in certain situations, another tool.

I like nano also, just tie a palamor knot. Its is as limp as dental floss. I actually noticed a distance increase in my cast.

How about Sunline snipper FC. It is on sale for 2 for 1. That would make it around $16.00 a spool afer shippping. It is said to be the Cat's meow.

I have never used it, any opinions.

I also like to use 4# Transition for a leader for the light stuff.

I always used Trilene XL in a former life. (2 lb. was 2 light 4 me!) Currently using 10 lb. Sufix 832 as my 'light' duty line. Am trying it after all the threads I read where so many feel braid is the best way to go with spinning reels.

Only thing I'd think would make a difference is with "bright" lines. I see a lot of crappie, bluegill fisherfolk using neon/bright lines. But I use the same setup I mentioned above regardless of what I'm targeting. 10lb PP Yellow + a leader.

The leader is where it comes in handy for me, I can tie on anything from 2lb to whatever, the mainline stays the same, and lasts a long time.

I never dip beneath 8 lb line for bass fishing. Having said that for quality finesse lines I like seagar invisix or sunline sniper for spinning reels. When I do dip beneath 8lb line it is for panfish or walleye which is less than 5% of my fishing. I just use Trilene XL or sensation in 4 or 6 pound. Just can't justify spending more on seldom used reels.

I fish all species of fish pretty much the same way with the same type of set-up, rod, reel, lines and leader will vary according to my target. It's spinning with braid and a mono leader, for bass and smaller it's 10# braid, of my 25 or so combos only 4 are freshwater.

#4 Yo-Zuri Hybrid has a breaking strength of 8.5 lbs. The fish in my avatar were caught using #4.

If the water you fish is stained, purple smoke blends best; for gin clear water, green. However, the

color is not really that important. I like clear on silver reels, it looks cool!

I LOVE Sunline Super Natural Mono. I mostly use 12#, but for lighter purposes, I'll go down to 8#. NEVER have any memory problems with this on a 2500 size spinning reel. And considering it's on sale 2-for-1 rght now, it's hard to beat!

I have never used a leader before, what purpose does it serve?
