I did that 1st chief, thanks

50# Braid and 15#-20# flouro if needed. If I don't have to use a leader, I don't.

You can fish both ways with great success. Braid and floro both excel for jig fishing. I have used both and typically prefer to use straight floro rather than braid with and without leaders. You really can go wrong here... just personal preference.

x2!

So being rude to the guy helps his question at all? I hate this everytime a person asks a d**n question about something, someone that has been here less that a year pops up telling them to use the search feature. Thats the entire point of an INTERNET DISCUSSION FORUM.

To the OP, I use straight braid in staind water as around here there is more staind that not. The heavy braid lets me get most of my jigs back when I get hung up.

Wasn't trying to be rude. It's just a fact that using the search function will provide you with more jig line content from the number of previous posts that asked the same question than one post will.....

Lots of time users that have explained this particular question in detail(or any other subject)numerous times won't post a detailed answer since they have time and time again. Making a decision is more (personally) based on "why" than "what"

Using the search function will help any user find these making it more valuable than just one topic.

It all depends on the situation. Pitching into wood, rocks, under docks, into moderate weeds I use 30lb braid with either a 15 or 20lb fluorocarbon leader. Flipping, punching or pitching into very thick weeds/brushy wood cover ( I don't use jigs for this much tho, mostly pegged t-rig plactics) straight 50lb braid. Dragging football jigs around deep water cover, depends, I never go much heavier than 10lb braid w/ 8lb fluoro leader when smallmouth fishing, and usualy 20 or 30 lb braid with 10,12,or 15 lb fluoro largemouth fishing.

I keep switching back and forth between 50# Power Pro and 15# Yozuri Hybrid. The braid wrapping and catching on guides and tips and hook hangers and...

Then there's the noise through the guides. Maybe it's just me.

30lb braid with a 12 Hybrid leader or 12lb Hybrid. Tried flouro, its okay but not the end all be all.

Thanks for all of the input and reccs. I'll try a few different set ups for different jig types.

15# flouro for most bottom applications. 12# yo-zuri hybrid for swim jigs. Just ask zip-pow about fishing the lilly pads at Guntersville. He swore I would break off in the pads with my yo-zuri. 6 fish later and he was a believer!

Jeff

65# power pro

12# yo zuri on my worm rod may throw the finesse jig when needed

15#mono big game on my spinnerbait rod will throw the swimming jig when finesse is needed

15 to 20 pound fluoro or 50 pound braid. Depends on what I'm doing.

15 lb mono for me

#15lb flouro for me!
