Alright my current line-up is 2 kistler helium(1mirco standard), dobyns savvy(734,735),and for spinning falco clark wendlendt and a st croix avid68mxf. So here is the dilema, i tend to change equpiment if not completely in love with it. i am happy but not in love(lol) and was thinking about replacing my 4 casting rods with either denali rosewoods or powell endurance's. i know its along shot but im hoping someone has compared a few of these rods together and was wondering there opinion. i know there are a few powell max vs savvys reviews but cant find to much on the endurance series or the rosewoods.thanks for any replies.

I know what you're saying. I got rid of a Revo Toro Winch and then a Daiwa Luna because I wasn't in love with them. Got a Curado 301DSV, and now everything is perfect!

There´s nothing wrong with it, I sold my Kistlers because they didn´t "feel right", it didn´t matter they were Kistlers and everybody drooled for them, they didn´t feel right so ----> bye-bye, same thing happened to a couple of St.Croix, some other rods and several reels followed the same path. Part of the joy of fishing is doing it with gear that feels right. The catch is finding out what feels right before getting it.

Pm me if your gonna sell the Kistlers. I've been looking into a Kistler rod.

I have one Endurance for cranking and I like it a lot. Everything else I've heard about the rest of the line is also very good.

This is a thread I started asking opinions on a few rods and it quickly turned to Powell's and Phenix's. Its not strictly about the Endurance but there is some helpful info in there, and maybe some others to consider.

Why Do I Make This So Difficult

A hard question but an easy answer. I agree that we all like gear that suits our fishing style and is comfortable. I think the best reviews are the ones we make ourselves. Web site reviews, forum reviews can produce so much information that can be quite conflicting, all with good intentions. So much is based on personal favorites and may not be tailored to one's fishing style or waters. Experimenting on my own is what produces the best answers for me, not that I won't try something different, it's only a rod or reel or some kind of line, there is no magic bullet.

Strangely, lately I've found that I'm enjoying the "experimenting" as a side dish to fishing. I read up on gear, search the forums, and try to determine what will be beneficial to me.

So, it's sort of "fishing" when you are not actually fishing!! Another facet of the sport to enjoy.

And, of course, "wanting" something is quite a different sensation than "having" it!!

I have never used the Powell's but I have been using Denali Rosewood's for a year. I will tell you right off that I am on Denali Pro Staff because a lot of people think that if you are Pro Staff you are going to say something good about the product no matter what. I don't represent a product or say good things about a product unless I believe in it. With that being said, I absolutely love my Denali's. Every time I use them, I am more impressed. I had been using Loomis IMX rods prior to the Denali's and I honestly feel the Denali Rosewoods are every bit as light and sensitive. The actions on every Rosewood I have seems to be just right and the components are high quality. Denali is using a ring lock guide on their rods which prevents the ceramic inserts from coming out. I for one really like that.

How long have you used your current rigs? Maybe you just need to get use to the feel of them.

If you change tackle too often, however, you could be changing wives before too long as well.

I have 4 Powells and just ordered 2 more. I have used just about every rod in the $100 - $200 range and a few in the $200 - $250 range and I feel the Powell Endurance and Phenix Recons are the best bang for the buck.
