Favorite Flipping Baits?

Featured Replies

Mine is a company not too many people know about( big bite baits yo momma) its very versatile and has a good action. My second favorite is berkley havoc pit boss. Whats yours?

Ooohhh I love threads like these. (I have a flipping addiction)

1: Strike King Rage Hawg

2: Zoom Brush Hog

3: Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver

4: Evolve RX Kompak Craw

5: Rage Tail Space Monkey

Those are my top 5. I always use a 1 oz weight, a green pumpkin flipping skirt, and a 4/0 Gamakatsu flipping hook. If the water is muddy I'll slide that little rubber thing with two rattles from a jig onto my line between the weight and the hook. The weight bangs up against the rattle and it makes a lot of noise.

Most of the time for me,its the jig&lil pork crawdad. In the warmer water,i have excellent luck with the zoom trailers, both large and small.

My weakness.......for scattered cover i like a good ol plastic worm and also a jig and chigger craw. For heavier cover or punching i love a punch skirt and D&M Baits flippin craw.

Skirted jig with a single tail grub

Skirted jig with a craw trailer

1. PowerTeam Lures 4.5" Texas-Rig Jig

2. PowerTeam Lures 4.5" Conviction Craw

3. PowerTeam Lures 4.5" Food Chain Tube

4. Premium Plus Jig w/ Trailer

5. Berkley Power Hawg

Those are the 5 tied on to my flippin rods at all times. The Texas-Rig Jig is really neat. Its basically a soft plastic version of a skirted leadhead jig, skirt and trailer combined. Throw it with a 3/8oz. sinker and a 5/0 hook and it flat out catches fish that others miss with their regular jigs.

For flipping grass in water warmer than 60 degrees, I like the RI Beaver most of the time, if they are being all mad at me and stuff and won't hit the beav, I go with a senko with a tungsen sinker pegged to it's nose.

Docks, wood, grass in colder water, and any other hard cover I usually go with a jig.

A GREAT question : )

1) Berkley Havoc Pit Boss

2) Berkley Havoc Craw Fatty

3) Strike King Rodent

4) Yum F2 Wooly Bug

Has anyone tried using the Yamamoto Fat Ika for flipping? I've heard great things. I'd love to hear more input

That might work...

Any soft plastic that I'd cast or pitch, I'd flip with. It's just a casting style.

Very good point that hasn't been mentioned yet.
