I was wondering how many of you use a wacky rigging tool with O rings
for wacky worm fishing? I have looked at a couple at TW and am curious
as to wheather they preform as advertised and are they worth the
investment. I am new to this type of presentation, but would like to get
started. All opinions welcome pro or con.

I have been using the o ring for a couple of years on my wacky rigs--have not noticed any decrease in hookups since switching to the o ring--only thing I have noticed is my worms do not rip as easy and they last a lot longer and that is a good thing!

They work Great.  Here's a little tip:

 

Us two to make an "x" and you can have a perpendicular hook.

I have the Wacky Saddle kit and I really like it. It also keeps the hook perpendicular to the worm.

I have used a 3/8 wide piece of electrical tape too. works pretty well

I do not, but I have used shrink wrap tubing.

 

Mostly I just use the "naked" worm.

Nice idea! Have you noticed the hooksets are easier like this?

I fish a weightless wacky rig all the time, its my most productive and favorite way to fish.I have been using the o rings for years now and would never go back to rigging them thru the plastic.

Honestly, like much of fishing, it's a Jedi mind trick.  I think the hook stays cleaner in weeds, and like it upright for the hookset.  Reality, it's probably all in my head.  I have confidence in this rig.

I like the shrink wrap. You can use the same Senko all day no matter how many fish you catch.

Have you guys seen the wacko jig? I just saw it gotta check it out sometime.

Great advice here. I had used a pen last year before finally deciding to buy a wacky rigging tool and honestly don't notice a difference between the efficiency of the pen and the actual tool. The tools are cheap but an old pen is cheaper and works just as well.

I have a couple. Didn't use them because the line holes were powder coated and I was too lazy to chip it away until after bass closed up in November. Looks interesting and I'll give them a shot this year though I imagine I'll just stick with o-rings.

I've always used a snap ring instead of the o-ring. I had some large ones laying around (fits senko type baits perfectly) and thought it might work and now that's all I use.

Here you go.  If you do a little googling, you can find CLEAR shrink wrap.

The Waky Saddle kit is the next generation o-ring technique for rigging Senkos and plastic worms for the serious angler. If you have not tried it yet, you should!

Thank you so much, see i didnt realize the hook was actually going through the worm to...I couldnt find a picture of it, once again thank you.

Really looking forward to trying wacky rig this year...I got an unlimited amount of black an clear shrink tube from work...hahaha!

Now in the pic I see the tubing is not in the center of the worm, Is this preference or can it be placed anywhere? Sorry if this is not the right place but...How, when, and where do you typically wacky rig? Oh an what size hook are you guys using.

Sorry if these are dumb questions, its my second season of fishing an i love it. Just trying to learn as I havent used anything other than Texas Senko.
