Line Cutters

Featured Replies

After mangling some braid last night, I am looking for a good line cutter that will cut everything and have no problems with braid.  Toe nail clippers just don't cut it anymore.  What do you guys use?

I don't have it, but everyone that has told me about it has said the The Boomerang tool "The Snip" is the best cutter for braid. From what I have seen it cuts it really smooth and evenly; no matter what type of strength or line.

I use the BPS Braid Scissors. They are around $3.00 a piece so I have a few that I throw in various boxes or bags. They've worked just fine for me.

The Snip! best that I have found and all I use is braid.

Fiskar scissors work fine for me.

Funny, I was just looking up fiskars.  I remember when I was a kid, my dad told me fiskars will cut anything, and then he would steal my moms sewing fiskars.  LOL

Rub two zebra mussels together.  That'll slice braid up for ya! :eyebrows:

A good pair of scissors is a good choice.  But I personally use my Spyderco Delica 4.  Keep it razor sharp and it will cut braid, mono, and fluoro very easily, just don't slip or you will need stitches.

I highly recommend "The Snip" from Boomerang Tools, but a handy alternative is a pair of the Fiskars kid scissors - they cut through 65lb. braid without skipping a beat.  I always have a spare pair in my dry box while on the water as well as the Snip in my PFD.  I also have a spare Snip at home and a couple pairs of the Fiskars grade school scissors that I keep inside for when I am tying leaders or cleaning up line ties on lures preciously used after a trip.

Ya, I had a razor knife I used.  But was looking for something a little quicker and safer, lol.

The fly shop in Bass Pro has these things called "hemo-scissors."  They work great for braid.

Get EMT scissors. You can usually pic them up fairly inexpensively and they're EXTREMELY versatile.

My kid's fiskars scissors.

I have the Boomerang Snip and it works great. Keep it clipped on my belt loop whenever I am out fishing

Another vote for the Boomerang tool. A little pricey but it cuts braid like nobody's business.

I never had an issue with the scissors from WallyWorld that are 2 for $3.  Just put some tension on the line and they will snip through braid just fine.
