Name Your Most Productive Brand Hollow Frog, The Most Productive Color And Most Productive Conditions...

Featured Replies

Wondering about everyone's most productive brand, and color of frog and the most productive condition to throw them in...

This year I've been catching fish on the H2O Xpress frog, their new version looks basically identical to the SPRO or KVD.  Been catching most of my fish on the all black body with black/blue legs, and the rest on the black/gray belley.

I've had the best luck useing a Scum frog in either green with red specks, or green with black.

I've used the Spro and KVD models, but for non popping presentations the Scum works the best, probably because they are the softest.

I walk it over and through all kinds of grass, pads etc. Really anywhere in moderately shallow water.

H2O Xpress black and yellow. i use the smaller one more than the large, drag it off the moss and hold on.

I've been using pad crashers resently, but have'nt fished them around vegetation yet.I've had great success throughing to; on the banks and hopping them off, they smash it as soon as it hits.I like the darker color patterns like brown and black.

The Jackall Iobee in bluegill is what i use. Its best in cloudy, low pressure conditions. Remember, if you bait leaves a bubble trail, your supposed to be fishing topwater.

Which ever one I am using, where ever I am using it.

Spro in black. I like them in vegetation along the shoreline, especially if there's docks or brushpiles too.

Black Tiger and Sexy Frog in Strike King and Albino in Spro have all produced well for me. Only condition that I don't do well with frogs is on days where there is a lot of wind pretty much any other condition I can catch em on a frog

Another vote for the black Spro. The nastier the cover the bigger the bass.

Ive fished spro, KVD, and booyah and so far the booyah has caught more fish. Leopard frog is my favorite color during daylight and black after dark.

Belly color is more important to me than top. I like white or yellow in the day light and black/brown/purple in low light or dark. I like Live Target and KVD sexy frogs. Caught a million on both and I can cast them a mile.

White or black (depending on cloud cover) Stanley Floating Ribbits. Best conditions have been stale air, warming temperatures, and sunshine for a couple of days, thrown in the afternoon sometime after 3 o'clock. As of now, the topwater/frog bite has turned COMPLETELY OFF for me.

Spro in green tree.  That seems to work best in thick slop, out away from the bank.

I used to buy colored frogs but now if theyre not all black I dont want em.

Finally, someone who gets me!

Makes perfect sense, dont know why more dont see it. Black is the most visible color to a fish night or day in any water color.

Spro Frog especially the baby popper in black and yellow has beeb very successful lately.

I will stipulate though... if it's overcast with some dark clouds, I'll throw an all white frog to contrast better with the dark sky.

I like the jackall iobee, koppers frogs, and booyah. Black if its night time or cloudy, white/yellow belly if its sunny or daytime.

Threw a Yellow with white belly Booyah Poppin Pad Crasher and a Spro Green Tree Poppin frog yesterday...the only thing that showed any interest were the Bullfrogs...they came from far away to check out my offering...gonna have to try one of my Black Frogs next time...I'm really drawn to the Toad Color from Spro for some reason...
