If I didn't know better, I'd almost say that fish was suffering from some systemic internal bacterial infection.  Problem is, those fish seldom bite.  He's just one greedy smallie!  Very cool!

It looks like that fish has a ostrich egg in its belly. Nice gut, nice fish!

That fish is crazy fat! I've caught some fat fish but even the fattest one I've ever caught falls well short of that gut!

I caught one that was shaped like that last year up in South Dakota. I didn't take a picture but if you can imagine a 12" smallmouth with a gut like the first one, that's pretty much it. Felt like I was holding a junior football
