Dream Rod

Featured Replies

I'm bored and decided to post a fun thread I've searched and didn't see anything but if it s been posted recently or whatever please take it down anyway if you could have any rod and reel combo and money was no issue what would it be 1 spinning and one casting

Mine would be a 7' mh fast action St Croix legend extreme with a Lew's team pro speed spool

My spinning would be a 6'10 m x-fast with a abu Garcia revo premier spinning reel

Tight lines

Andrew

Megabass zonda or daiwa jdream zillion reel with an NRX or megabass destroyer orochi x4

Well, let's see here:

Dream exotic setup: Megabass Destroyer X7 6'8" Cyclone Advantage with a Team Daiwa Ito 103M Megabass edition

Dream regular setup: Gary Loomis Edge 7' MH Mag Bass with a Shimano Chronarch CI4+

Evergreen super stallion stick with a Px type R or Presso. Might even use a steez rod to stick with brand loyalty!

St croix legend elite with a shimano conquest.

St croix avid with pflueger patriarch

I always answer these "dream" threads about the same way....

My dream rod is the one with a 15lb largemouth bass on the end of the line........................

No kidding.............

If one can have a combo that will handle a 10#+ bass out of cover than go catch a 40# tarpon with the same rod and reel, not a bad outfit to own.  I don't have to dream, I already own it.  7'6  med redbone 40 soron with 15# braid, that said I could accomplish the same things with a number of other combos I have........only the fish matters.

I let y'all know when I get my Antares HG in a day or so if it's my dream reel or not. I don't know anything about the fancy rods from overseas other than they sure do look great so I will have to settle on what I know. The Antares is going on my Loomis 844IMX but I eventually want to upgrade to the GLX.

I'll stick to American rods, I don't know anything about JDM stuff. G Loomis's are nice, but I want a St. Croix Legend Xtreme Tournament bass rod, 7'' or 7'1" MH fast action with a Daiwa Steez.

But I was going to "Dream" about something in the 24 or 25 pound class . . . . . . .

I guess I don't dream big enough...   I usually pick 15lbs as the "dream" since the Tennessee state record LMB is 14.5lb... ;)

Dream rod? Can't I be content with what I have?

But ill bite, I guess its a dream come true, because I intend to order a NRX 894c. And I already have Team Lews Pro, I'm gonna put on it.

If I was made outta money I could see putting a tricked out zillion R or a steez

No Doubt ~ but an angler has as good a shot down there as anywhere  . . . . . . . .

You may want to fish saltwater., that's where 25 pound fish are called dinks.

My dream rod?  One that worked as well for everything as my 7' Ugly Stik and Penn reel back when I was ten or so.

Not in my saltwater!

Been there - done that.

If it's your dream (or making it a reality) why wouldn't you go with something completely custom? The point of diminishing returns on an over the counter rod is right around $250-$275. A competent builder can give you more bang for your buck at this price range and even below.

Already have my dream rod. An Edge Mag Bass 705 with a Chronarch CI4+. Unbelievable rod.

My spinning dream rod would be a Stella 2500FE (already have the reel) and a Megabass Destroyer Phase III F4.5-73XS (maybe someday).
