I Broke The Wifey

Featured Replies

She told me to get salt to de-ice a small patch of the walk earlier this week where the gutter dumps out. I should have listened. We had a dusting of snow yesterday and were on our way out to see a movie. She had fancy boots with heels on and...I should have picked up salt. No broken bones. If I were a betting man, she tore something in her shoulder. Gonna give it one more day before she follows up with my shoulder doc. She says her arm feels like it's just dangling and she has lost all her strength. I'm hoping for the best but I've been there done that. If you guys have extra prayers you're not using, she could use a few.

Not to mention the few you will need when she realizes she's broke because you can't follow directions...

Hope she makes a fast recovery and you survive as well.

Yikes... sorry to hear that. If she subluxed and tore her labrum you're toast for the next few months, more of the same if she tore the cuff. Cross your fingers and say a prayer that it's just sore and she'll wake up tomorrow feeling 50% better already.

Sent...hope it's just a cracked collar bone, but that's not what it sounds like...good luck.

I know all about it. Already had 2 surgeries. SLAP repair was the most recent. I have muscles torn off my scapula and surgery to reattach them is up in the air.

Ouch......for both of you. Prayers sent.

Incidentally, I'm not hurt nearly as bad as you, and maybe not as bad as her, but I have a shoulder that hurts all the time anymore. Hurts when I sleep on it, hurts when I move it much or lift with it, pops and cracks when moved certain ways, and doesn't seem to be getting any better either. Too many years of heaving up 32' and 40' extension ladders, carrying around whole 2 square boxes of vinyl siding, and packing shingles up those ladders, among other things.

She had xrays today. Shoulder, neck, hip, and tail bone. All were ok.

7 years of bad luck for breaking a mirror, what the hell do you get for breaking a wife?    lol

Yeah, that's no fun at all and definitely something you don't want to share with your wife! Hopefully she's feeling quite a bit better now.

She went to her primary doc today. Still hasn't got  into the ortho doc yet. She has blood in her urine. It's not much and they don't know if it's from the accident or something else. She's going to follow up again in a week with that. I know she's still sore because she's irritable. She told me she was ready to clock the checkout girl at wally world this morning. That's unlike her.

In her defense, "clock" is my word. I believe she said slap.
