The Mount Rushmore Of Pro Bass Fishermen?

I always like statistical analysis.....my question is with regards to length of career and number of events begin the indicator.  Were the same number of tournaments available back in the day?  If not, than this would not be a fair indicator for weighting the career numbers.  Kind of like NFL players don't have to play as many years to get the same number of games as those form when the league had 12 or 14 games.

Good point Flyfisher.

When I wrote the program, I intentionally omitted peripheral influences like opportunities,

age, injuries and accolades such as AOY, Classics, Megabucks, et al.

I was only interested in documented performance based on raw statistics.

You'd have to go back further in time than any on the original post.  Rushmore is a tribute to our founding fathers.   While all mentioned are notable, any list that does not include Gadabout Gaddis

  • Greatest Tournament Fisherman: Rick Clunn   Greatest Fisherman:  Al Lindner

I think any monument of this type without KVD included on it would be a complete fail.

Kinda like a basketball Mt. Rushmore without Russell.

King James really stuck his foot in his mouth on that one.

For a west coast version,

Dee Thomas  (flippin' method)took Gary Klein under his wing back in the late 70's

Dave Gliebe, taught me how to flip and pitch, also in the mid to late 70's, still fish with him on the delta to this day

Gary Dobbins (some guy who's got his name all over a bunch of rods) HE, HE! Hopes he reads this!

Skeet Reese, still remember his head bangin' rock coming out of his beat up car! And that hair cut back then?

Skeet got there the hard way and earned everything he's got!

Gary went thru some tough time as well, not doing bad for a cable installer!

Dee, still the "grumpy old fa#t!"

Dave, still a class act, now working at B.P. in Manteca, Ca.
