i wanted this lure the moment I saw this video:

Took it by my local shop tried to convince him to start carrying Savage Gear!

Awesome, I can't wait to get my hands on this and it is only $17.99 it looks like it would be $40+

There are still a couple on the Bay.  That's the only spot I could find any.

That bait looks awesome. Love how it swims. Now if I only threw swim baits...  :Idontknow:

A lot being sold on other forums. A lot of people seemed to have bought several when they first came out and are selling off their stock.

I will have ice on the lake for another 2 months, so I can wait until it comes in stock at Tackle warehouse

Decent bait, but man, they're fragile.  I like essentially everything about it.  I threw it this past week in CA and about five fish shredded it.

That's disappointing, I was really looking forward to trying them. Are they just extremely soft or poorly put together?

That's the first time I've heard about them being fragile.  I've fished Savage Gear before (3d trout) and they hold up well.

Wow that looks very realistic while swimming!!!

Wow! Holy crap that is real lookin

I'd like to know as well. Everything I've read up until now had been positive. There is a guy on another forum tearing them up on this bait and it's holding up well.

i have this , this works like a charm. I've caught at least 20 fish on it and the lure still looks brand new.

I fish the tail waters around here for big fish.  Stripe on the Caney below Center Hill and Musky on the Collins/Great Falls and Melton Hill.

I was trying to wait until tw got the slow sink back but I couldn't hold back the monkey any longer.  outdoor pro shop has them in stock if anyone is looking.  Now someone return the favor and tell me where I can pick up a hard gill LOL.

Maybe I just got a bum deal on one.  The second section of mine just shredded.  I mean, literally, it was holding by a thread.  The mesh almost seemed like it never even got seated in the plastic and tore free at the joint really quickly.  The other thing, too, is that the "line through" portion of the bait seemed to wear very quickly.  The nose was torn after just one fish. It should have been adeqaute to pop the treble free and let the bait slide up, yet it didn't seem to do that.  It seemed like the hook wouldn't pop out of the slot until after a couple head shakes and by that time, the damage was done.

What I will say, though, is the bait swims better than almost anything I've ever thrown.  It's extremely realistic in the water, and it moves really, really well.  I definitely like the way the bait swims and the sink rate.

I bought a couple a few months ago but I haven't fished them yet.  The one negative thing I did notice was how hard it was to get the hook out of the slot.  I really like the design and the fact that the hook rides in the top of the bait but it did seem like it could be tough to actually get the hook to pop free.

Did you try mashing the barb on the treble that gets inserted into the bait?  Seems like you could even just cut it shorter too since it is more of a holder than a hook.

I showed everyone in my house and they all thought it was a real live trout. Impressive. Never fished a swim bait. I have a couple I'm going to use this year. If they work out for me I may invest the 30.00 on one of these. Heck I could see having pool parts tying up a weight on it instead of a hook and trying to fool people by tying it to like a 3lb test on the little dock demon pole my 4 yr old uses see if I could trick some people. So if it didn't catch fish I may be able to pull a prank or two haha

Just ordered one lol....

Hooli,

Can you post a pic of the bait so we can see what you're talking about? I was also really excited to get one of these.
