How do you store your rods between fishing trips? Do you leave them in your boat, put them in the garage, a room inside your house?

 

 

I usually bring mine in my house because my garage gets hot, but I'm assuming its ok to leave my rods in my boat in my garage?

 

 

I also worry about accidently leaving my garage door open and someone stealing all of my tackle.

I bring all my rods/reels inside. Tackle just stays locked in the boat. I spend thousands of dollars on rods/reels/line. I'm okay /w taking an extra 2 trips and 5 min of my day to bring my stuff inside. Plus, I have a reason to toy /w them if they are insie.

it stays in the boat in the garage... the more expensive gear is locked in the storage compartments... it takes some large balls to try and steal fishing gear out of a mans garage, especially when the penalty for getting caught is 00 buckshot... plus if anything goes missing i get to go shopping for fishing gear... oh darn...

Why do you remove the reels?

Most of the time, my rods and reels are on a rack in the garage, but if unjust back from fishing this evening and plan on going again in the morn, ill leave them in the boat

All rods and reels go down in the basement when I get home.  Tackle bag goes down in the basement also and gets opened up.  Everything gets cleaned and wiped down to remove dust, grass, etc.

Mine stay on the boat locked up. Wish I had a garage to put everything in.

They go back into vertical rod holders in the basement after the drag stars have been disengaged.....

Go in a storage unit since I live in an apartment with no garage. I have two units one for all my fishing gear and a general purpose one Before I got the units I would just sit them in the corner of my living room behind my recliner.

I fish out of a canoe so I can't leave any gear in the boat. Most of the rods and all the tackle live in the garage; some of the rods get to come in the house and stay in the "princess rack".   All rods are stored vertically, except 5 combos that are in the car box, ready to go for the next day. I fish every day so all my combos are usually ready to go - I don't remove reels or store stuff away.

I leave most of mine in my rod locker through the open water season. When the lake starts to harden, I bring them in and put them on my rod rack.

I don't own a boat and I live in an apartment. So inside is the only option. I have one bedroom that doesn't really get used, so it has become my fishing gear room. Besides, keeping it inside makes it easier for me to play with my toys, especially on boring evenings.

I do usually leave a tackle box and my 2-piece spinning rod locked in the cab of my truck though. That way it's a couple less things to carry in and out, plus I'm ready to fish at any time.

I dont have a boat so everything gets stored in the garage on a roll away vertical rack.

Drags are backed off and reels are covered.

All tackle and lure boxes are removed from the bag, and left open for a day.

All tied on hooks and hard baits are cut off.

In the garage, but nothing near as pornographic as Goose there, phew that's awesome.

All my gear that I most often use stays in the boat. I don't even keep the boat in the garage (that is for all my hunting stuff), if something gets stolen my insurance will replace it with brand new gear anyways!

In my furnace room the rods I won't be using the next day or anytime soon stay on my make shift horizontal racks (2 hooks, 4 sets, each set can hold 4-5 rods).  My babied roads which is most will have a rod glove on it.  The ones I know I will be using soon or the next day I will have them reeled up, set up and leaning against a chair (I like to lean my rods on this than the walls, it helps support it better when leaning).  RIght now I have three rods with reels on them right now.  (2 spinning and 1 casting)  - MLXF, M/XF and M/F, they are all ready to go for pan fishing for crappie/perch.
