Never caught anything on this lure...

Featured Replies

I just aquired a Rapala DT10 that looks like a baby bass from a friend.  I was snooping in his box and picked it up and said "Hey this looks cool, this would be great in the pond!" He handed it to me and said "I have never caught a thing on it."

I fish a small pond that is full of bass and bluegills and I am determined to catch someting on it.  What do you guys think?

I have, fished around deep weed edges. Give it a try. Also the Baby Bass in a Mann's Minus 1 I have caught my fair share on. Thank your friend.

DT10 were not designed to use in ponds.   :)

I have a DT10 in bluegill color and one in parrot and haven't caught a single thing on either one. I'm not a big deepwater crankbait fisherman but even when I'm catching fish on like a series 5 or smaller fat free shad I can't catch anything if I switch to a DT10 for some reason.

This pond was dug out a few years ago which created a channel around the outside that is at least 10' deep.  Should work as long as I try before the sludge gets thick.

When used in the right circumstances I'm SURE it will catch bass.

I love the DT series.  Easily one of my top producing baits on the "all time" list.

Give 20 casts each time out... definitely going to pick up something.

I'd try it. It doesn't hurt to try any lure. I have tons of lures in my tackle box, and I've used every one. If you don't catch anythig, at least you learn how that particular bait works...

I've done very well with the DT10, as long as it's not a defective one it should produce.

Defective? You must be thinking of another crank, because that is one thing you can count on from EVERY dt you take out of the package..

Rapala DT are awesome. I have 30+ of them from a DT4 to DT20's. They are great crankbaits.

The DT in Bluegill pattern is one of my best producing cranks just behind the strike king series 5 chart. sexy shad.

DT 10 is a great crankbait.  Have caught LM, Sm, Kentucky Bass, and stripers on it.  I really do not see why it will not work in your pond if you fish it correctly.

The Rapala DT is one heck of plug! We fish mostly shallow natural lakes,

and my personal favorite is the DT-7 Flat Sureset.

As Vinny pointed out, I too have never encountered a faulty Rapala DT,

they're a great tool.

Is that Olathe Lake or Cedar Lake? Looks like it could be either with the water willow and dirty water in the background. I guess if it was Cedar you'd really be rooting the bottom in most places with a DT10. I can catch them really well with a DT6 or DT4 but nothing on a DT 10 for some reason.
