I'm fishing in my first tourney this weekend and I want to get some really good line to spool up with. Any feedback is appreciated.

Braid: Power Pro

Fluoro: Seaguar Red Label

Mono: Trilene XL
Copoly: P-Line Fluoroclear (crankbaits) or P-Line CXX (pitching)

Good luck in the tourney!

Fluorocarbon: Seaguar Abrazx or Invisx

No Copoly,,,,,The only line I spool spinning or casting reels with is Sufix 832, 10 lbs. test to 50 lbs. test, all other line is for leader only and why I use them, most would be to much memory for spooling but have a great abrasion resistance!! My leaders run from 18" to 12', and from 4 lbs. test to 30 lbs test. Fishing for pike musky and big Toothy critters, I use my custom big game leaders from 100 lbs. test to 130 lbs. test,,,,,,,Fluorocarbon!

I primarily use mono. And so far I have been very happy with Suffix Siege.

Braid: Spiderwire Ultracast

Copoly: Vicious Fishing

Don't use copolymer at all.

Braid: PowerPro, but I'm trying out the Seagaur smackdown this year and I'm liking it, too.

Fluorocarbon: Seagaur Invisix.

Mono: don't use it

Copolymer: Yo-zuri hybrid, but I'm about to jump ship to Izorline.

Line is the most important connection between you and the fish, choose carefully.

The past few years there has been a lot of improvement in fishing line, it's a changing state of the art as mfr's learn more about high strength polymers and fibers. The problem we have in America is we chased production and development off shore. DuPont gave up their facilities and sold off some equipment to the folks at Vicious.

My favorite FC was Sunline Shooter between 1988 to about 2010, then changed to Blackwater Hi Test Bass FC until they went nuts with doubling the price, great line. Now I am back to Sunline using new Super Sniper FC. Not a fan of braid for bass fishing where I fish, deep structured lakes with sparse cover.
