Who Is Your Favorite Pro Bass Angler?

Featured Replies

Even though he is now retired, Denny Brauer.  I wish they would bring back "Brauer Bass Battles" with him and his son Chad.  I loved that show!

Randy Howell, KVD, Jeff Kriet, Gerald Swindle.....hard to pick just one.

My favorite bass angler is Edwin Evers, I follow his career highlights like an NFL team

Without a doubt, Shaw Grigsby!

Jeff

Have you ever read his book, it was the best book that I have ever read.....

Al Lindner is my favourite, followed closely by Dave Mercer and Bob Izumi.

I like Bill Dance.  I just started watching Jimmy Houston and enjoy his program because he acts like he just got out of a nut house and is loony.  He's funny to watch.  I guess the word I'm looking for is "entertaining."   I used to like Shaw Grigsby.  I love his enthusiasm but he's not very subtle when it comes to pushing products on his program.  I hate to say it but after watching a few videos that Mike Iaconelli did for Bass Resource a few months ago, I've become a fan of his.  I really enjoyed his videos where he's talking about fishing topics.

Mine is KVD and Greg Hackney. I like KVD because we are from the same area and he just seems like an all around good guy. Met him at our local BPS last year and he was very down to earth and helpful. And Hackney....how could you NOT like the guy? He's hilarious and he catches everything.

Jimmy Houston is my personal favorite but there's a whole lot who tie for second.

A. Martens... Straight shooter and he uses the best reels

I don't follow any of the tournaments at all, but I did like to watch the "City Limits" show with Mike Iaconelli.  He caught some nice fish in places you wouldnt expect.

Greg Hackney. I get his humor...Plus, you can learn a lot about technique by watching this guy fish, no bad habits, to me the best stick on tour at fishing bottom baits.

My wife finds G-man to be pretty hilarious but Greg Hackney's stuff is more entertaining to me. Subtle and in no way forced.

I have had the privilege of fishing with Big O a few times and he would be my choice.

I haven't watched a lot of tourneys but Ish Monroe and Boyd Duckett have peaked my interest as does KVD and Iaconelli.  I grew up watching Bill Dance.

In the 80's it was Nixon, 90's Denny Brauer, 2000's Scott Martin... Never met a one... But I have run into Roland a bunch... Once at the Wild Turkey calling championship in louisville, Walter Parrot won that year.....

KVD

Tommy Biffle makes me laugh the most. He's like a bear that's just come out of hibernation.   All the guys on the BFL come across really well, though I can't warm to Dean Rojas for some reason and Ish looks like he's trying too hard as he mentions his sponsors every other word.

Me

Hard to pick just one lol. I've met several but my favorites to pull for are Ike, Gman and Marty Robinson. Gman and Marty cause they are cut ups and awesome and I wasn't ever a huge fan of Ike's till I read his book and really enjoyed his story and definitely been pulling for him.

If we're talking pro tournament anglers, I like Scott Martin, Aaron Martens and Mike Iaconelli. Seems like there are a lot of genuinely good guys in the game, though.

For their fishing talents and accomplishments rick clunn and kvd

For simply the fun of watching g-man, ish , and Edwin Evers

For their integrity ott Defoe and randy Howell. Met ott several years back and you cannot find a better role model for the sport.
