Getting tough  on a pressured 4th of July weekend 

I invited my son, Michael, currently in town visiting from Nashville, out to a local spot last evening to catch a few summer dinks. He executed a perfect hookset to nail this puppy.

Got to go surf-casting for Striper in MA.  It was a long but awesome day.  Here are a couple of the fish.

Caught this one on a grape shad culprit worm last week.

Caught a nice smallie tonight though she decided to put my lipless in my hand it's not attached to my rod there 

Sorry for your finger but at least it was a nice fish.

Hope you put some antiseptic on it.I cut a hook out of my foot a couple weeks ago and didn't. Now it's infected.

I got out on the water with my partner at 5 AM on the morning of the 4th of July. I was reluctant to go that early whenever my buddy mentioned the idea of it. However, we were rewarded. We caught around a dozen fish, all in the 14-19" range, which for western PA on an over pressured lake, is  a very good day.

we spent Friday through Sunday at a campground on MD's eastern shore, fished there and all along local creeks when we could get to them. This was the largest of mine for the weekend, but we had a blast relaxing. 

Finally a good day for me and my long time fishing buddy. We hardly had any success together as fishing partner since last year, it either him or me(mostly him) or both got skunked.

 We started around 5:30AM, he caught one fish and lost one on his walking dog(R2S), I got two blow up on my frog but no fish. Then we both switched to chatterbait and both caught a few more bass, including double(first ever for us). I end up caught another big catfish also with chatterbait.

Good to have fishing buddy even once in awhile.

sometimes they do fight back. OUCH! good looking fish.

Numbers are down and they are still suspending 15 down, but one came up to play

5 pounder on a 5" Kailin's grub and that is about as flat as you will see Lk St Clair 

I've never catching a bass on a yum dinger so this was a first for me, I wanted to change things up.

I went with a pack of Watermelon Red Flake and June Bug in four inch.

After waiting for countless hours and wanting to give up my sister and i both caught alright size bass on them and best part we both didn't lose our bait

Release was easy got em right in the lip,  Overall an okay day.

 

 

 

we went out for a while yesterday evening, after getting blanked at the marina (and losing a whopper plopper 90 to a mooring rope) we stopped by another pond on the way home. I tied on a baby mad paca in green pumpkin (t-rig 1/4oz) and pulled this beauty from the spillway waters. Between the two of us we had five fish from 2-4 lbs in about 20 minutes. 

When you get out fished by your  nephew  and lands a 6.2

Today must of been a slow day, I couldn't catch a thing

Senkos,Real Worms, Frogs,etc.

However, right before heading home something told me to use a frog and try said spot on the lake.

My friend has a cast on his foot so we camped out on the dam of a pond in lawn chairs and finesse fished. 6lb test and hyrdilla doesn't mix well, but I was able to land this fish, measured 20"!

Lake Okeechobee this morning at 6:31.

Had some luck on the new Sprinker frog on Thursday. I wouldn't spend the crazy money some folks are for them, but for the $14 I paid, they're pretty awesome.

 

Finally got one.

 

Let get back to our topic of catch show case, would ya? It's been pretty d**n hot here in Canyon Lake CA. I think the highest reach 115 and still stay hot during the night. The worth part is my home AC went south and the guy won't be able to come out to fix it until Tuesday, that is SUCK.

Did this guy get attacked by lampreys?

A good swim jig fish from yesterday.

 

21  inches 5lbs. from local Kansas City lake on a shakyhead. caught at 10:00 am today.

 

3.84lb chunk I got this morning.  Texas rigged Senko to the rescue.
