Off the top of my head I believe what I've been using are 5" senkos and I'm trying to figure out if a g lock or ewg hook is better for senkos?  Also, what size?  I've got to go buy some tomorrow before I go fishing Thursday hopefully.  I need to practice on how to get the senko straight when I put the hook to it.  They always come out bunched up.

I just bought some Gamakatsu Skip Gap hooks which are made to keep worms on. I figure this will hopefully also stop wacky rigged Senkos from sliding up past the hook eye and ending up on the line. When that happens, the Senko gets tore up being pulled down over the hook eye for the reset and eventually the Senko gets thrown off when the next fish fights.

When Senko's are thrown it has to be from up over the hook eye, obviously not off the end of the hook. So, hopefully this will stop it.

I have gone from EWG and G Lock hooks to Gamakatsu Octupus hooks and have lost less then before, but still losing some.

I like the G Locks but they do seem to open up a little with heavier rods and line for some reason.

For 5" senkos I'd go with 4/0

The size of hook is in direct correlation to how much action the bait will have.  The smaller the hook, the more action the bait will have.  With that said I personally don't go over 3/0 with a 5" senko style bait, unless the bite is on, then I will go with a 4/0.

You're gonna like the skip gap design.

I use them almost exclusively now for swimming a senko and especially flukes.

If pitching senkos or other plastices I use the twist lock.

I prefer the Owner Twistloc light with the cps.  The Senko tends to last longer and rig up easier without constantly sliding down your hook.

I googled them and couldn't find them.

No idea who makes them -- but I get them from Tackle Warehouse.

Bass Pro also carries them.

Cool. I see that they are for T-Rigging and C-Rigging. I'll look into them for that.

I got the Skip Gap hooks for wacky rigging. It's the only way I rig Senkos.

Owner Twistlock Light 5/0 for Texas

Gamakatsu Finesse Wide Gap 1/0 for Wacky

4/0 EWG from Gamakatsu is my go to for 5 in Senkos but the G Lock I do use on a occasion.  I find it works best with Fat Ikas and Lizards.
