I guess it's that time of year. The buzzbait bite is on fire!

 

 

 

Got a few buzzbait bites, but it is not "on fire" here in NOVA yet....at least not on my ponds. I am waiting patiently. I love hits on buzzbaits.

i cant get a bite on anything its raining every other day here and blistering hot in MS

Its on fire here-all day and night-

The bass here must not have gotten the memo yet....lol

I threw my black on black one for over an hour Sunday with no takers.  Hope that starts up here soon. I love catching them on a buzzbait

It's just fun fishing right there! My first came from BassMaster magazine in about 78... Lunker lure !

I have not been doing well with topwater in NoVA yet either. Catching them on Spinnerbaits and Senkos. My frogs and buzzbaits get wet, but only two or three hits on them on several outings. Frustrating, I want some topwater action!

I tried a buzz bait yesterday and nothing.  The conditions seemed right, light rain and cloud cover and the fish were playing at the surface.  After an hour I gave up and went with a Mann's -1 Baby Bass and caught 3 nice size ones in about 15 minutes.  They hit like they were angry at it.....

 

I will be going back to a buzz bait for sure.  It is still, I think, one of the funnest baits to fish.

I caught a few in my double secret pond with a Cavitron.

I tried a Pop R as well but when I put the Mann's on the fish started biting so I stuck with it until the sun came out.  Then I went back to soft plastic and  caught a couple more.  Overall it was a fun day.

My best of the year, a five pound five ouncer, took a 3/8 black skirt cavitron buzzbait.

Hope it turns on soon up here in IN. My B-O-B is sitting in the tackle box, patiently waiting for Mr. Bigmouth to come take a bite of him.

I don't believe I've caught a buzzbait fish yet this year, but I may not have caught 10 fish on topwater this year total.
