How Do You Store Your Hardbody Swimbaits?

Featured Replies

Hey guys so like the topic says I was wondering how most of yall go about storing your hardbody swimbaits? Thanks!

In Plano 3700 boxes.

I store them in a hand gun case

I use bait wraps for hard baits and the plano boxes suggested for soft baits.

There are a few swimbait boxes available, 3700 isn't deep enough.

I found Sistema Klip It meat storage boxes that have a plastic grid insert on the bottom that allows the swimbaits to dry and protects them. The box is about 11.5,x 5.5 x 2.5 deep with 4 latches, 1.75 liter size.

I keep 2 to 3 hard swimbaits in each box. Try the Container Store.

Hello! I keep mine in a Plano Two-Tiered guide series stowaway. I like that it has two trays but I don't have to flip it to access the bottom. The top tray is standard depth but the bottom is a deep tray. It comes in 3600 and a larger series. I use two of them in my backpack.

Deep 3600 series box, but don't fish anything over 10"s.  So far the ones I have fit.

As with most of my big hard baits, I prefer to hang them rather than lay them in a flat box.  A Plano Guide Series works for shorter baits, but for the big boys I prefer a musky box.

Where did you get those little hanger bars?

Plano 3731, each bait in it's own Ziploc bag once it's 100% dry, and, hook guards on everything.

Very old post but HAS ANYONE Seen something like this?--- Not sure where hangers come in- or if he modded the box with some rod.  Just not sure what it would look like on the outside edges.

Anyone want to make me one?

Looks like he modded the box with some metal bars and brackets. Doesn't look hard to do and I love the layout!!!

I use a deep Plano 3600 and Cabela's wrap for larger baits.

Homemade for my soft & hard baits. Keeps my tails straight.  Rubbermaid, wood dowels, and wire. It holds alot.

I did the same as GreenPig. But i had some stainless tubing about 3/8in. Cut tiny grooves along the tube for wire to lay in(prevents sliding). I only needed 2 sections of tubing,as i dont have quite that many-yet.

Hanging soft swimbaits like shown above is best method for Hudds etc.
