"Rodgers said referee Walt Anderson told him he thought Suh was blocked into the quarterback."

Maybe it's time that Rodgers gets the same protection that Cindy Crosby gets on the ice!

So the road to the Superbowl goes through Seattle.

...again.  :)

5-1 in their division. Can't blame luck on it this time. ;)

Isn't this awesome....totally agree

This year's biggest surprise?

All I have got to say is "How bout them Cowboys!"

Anyone remember Conrad Nobler, Suh is tame compared to him. I do think it was intentional and I'm a Detroit fan. No excuses for the Lions, they just didn't play well, Stafford was way off. Dallas is playing well too, Lions don't have much hope against them IMO.

I remember Dobler..tatum too.

Hmmmm.....no Seattle this weekend.  Must mean they done did good.  They may not make it all the way but they've done what many said they couldn't.

You can all go fishin this weekend....good games hopefully not till the following weekend.

I think everyone expected Seattle to make another run this year.  The only BIG surprise is Dallas.

Now, as we approach the "second season", we separate the wheat from the chaff. The NFL is

a marketing machine, perhaps the very best. It seems like most of the league still had some chance

of making the play-offs going into last week's finale, but now it's nut-cutting time.

If Denver can overcome The Brady Bunch in Foxborough I think we will see the same match-up we

had in last year's Super Bowl. However, every team that is still standing has a chance to take the

prize. I will never forget one of the greatest upsets in all of sports when Eli stole the ring in an impossible

victory over the undefeated Patriots.

Well, this sounds crazy, but I am a HUGE Tom Brady fan, but not a Patriots fan.

Tom's wife is kinda cute, too!

I don't care how numb your feet are you can tell the difference between flat ground and some ones leg.   I thought suspension was too severe a penalty in the first place, not like he punched him or body slammed him to the ground.  $70,000. is ample punishment...........last 5 seconds, Stafford to Megatron, lions win by a point.

How about losing to Dallas who has the exact same record and didn't get a bye? I understand the tiebreakers but is have a tough time swallowing this one if I was a Dallas fan.

Seattle beat GB so they should be playing this weekend in my opinion with Seattle and Dallas getting the bye IMO.

Why would they....? GB/Sea/Dal all finishes 12-4

I understand the tiebreakers but is have a tough time swallowing this one if I was a Dallas fan.

I'm a huge Dallas fan and they don't deserve the first round bye nor did they earn it.

Sea beat GB

Dal beat Sea

Dal didn't play GB so that theory doesn't work.

In the event of a multi way tie, the tie breakers are given by their records vs conference(NFC). In this case Sea was 10-2, GB was 9-3 and Dallas was 8-4 thus giving them seeding. Even though their record was just "as good" as the 1 and 2 seed. they were the worst of the bunch vs their respective conference.

more surprising than a 7-8 panthers team sneaking in?

Assuming Bell gets his leg right by then, ( I think they will beat BAL even w/o Bell this weekend)  I really don't see Den winning vs PIT unless ol' noodle arm can get his act right.

Superbowl NE vs Sea/GB

So i don't think Suh did it on purpose but i do think he didn't make any effort for it not to happen...

As far as tiebreakers go, they handle it the only way they can and it is fair.  Everyone also has to remember that the Cowboys had the easiest schedule in all of football this year.  They are playing good football but we will see what happens.  The smartest thing they have done is take the ball out of Romos hands.....take a look at his pass attempts this season versus any other one.

Why would they....? GB/Sea/Dal all finishes 12-4

Again, I understand how the seeding works with the tie breakers but don't agree with it.

All I'm saying is that Dallas has the exact same record as the #1 seed and beat them in their "unbeatable" home and didn't get a bye; that's all I'm saying is that a Dallas fan should have a gripe.

After years and years of Dallas not making the playoffs, you're complaining about the seeding?

It doesn't matter anyway. Romo will choke on the first round.  He always does.

And as mentioned, Dallas had a powder-puff schedule, while Seattle had the toughest in the entire NFL.  The seeding is correct.

...no...they didn't.

technically before the season started it was the most difficult..but after teams started playing their schedule shook out to be middle of the pack.

  • Super User

Oakland had the most difficult before and after the season started and it isn't really that close.

I could see the argument actually for Sea BEFORE the season started because SF was supposed to be good. While not easy, after the season ended they by no means has the most difficult road to the playoffs.

Go Steelers! Make it 7 rings!

Hmm...

Packers, Broncos, Cowboys, Rams (2), Cardinals and 49ers (2).

Seems like Seattle had a pretty stout schedule to me.
