I think Bellichick deflated Carrols head..literally causing him to be too "fancy" with his play calling.

We have yet to hear from the biggest hawks fan on the forum....

Whomever wins SEATTLE vs. packers will win the Superbowl.

There.  I said it. It's out there.

Bueller??

Would have it been a bad call if Lynch had been stopped short or fumbled, same for Wilson?  At least with the pass the ball made it to the enzone.   No question the safer play was a run and probably what the defense expected, great defensive play.

As much as I like Brady, Butler should have been the MVP, he didn't win the game he prevented the loss.

This my friend is why I am an "armchair QB" and not a professional analyst.  This makes a ton of sense to me.  If the strategy was truly this evolved then I love this game even more.  :)

My simple mind says they should have stayed with their strength and put the championship on the line by handing it off.

Bill is a sharp coach... The burden was on Seattle, Patriots had a 4 point lead, why call a time out? Bill had the odds, Pete didnt, Pete gambled against the odds... It reminds me of how Seattle got to the superbowl this year, Hail Marys and a lot of luck against greenbay.. Sooner or later, you will loose to a Fundamentaly sound Team and probably the best football coach ever..

I might be the biggest Hawks fan on the planet, and I haven't had an appetite all day... If that's not the worst call in the biggest moment, I don't know what is...

As I pats fan I feel for you and I'm not saying that to be a pin head.  I really do know exactly how you feel - it's not good.

After the 2007 & 2011 Superbowl losses I was not right for a while.

Yes ~ Until last night.

When Butler made that interception, I almost jumped through the ceiling . . . .

The Twelves are are SO PROUD of our SEAHAWKS! They came oh-so-close to winning back-to-back Super Bowls. THANK YOU Seahawks for another incredible season. THANK YOU 12's for rooting on your team no matter what. The road to Super Bowl 50 begins now. See you there!

I totally agree with the first part of what you said. They were on the 2 yard line, and looking at the Patriots's formation, Lynch could have easily LOST yards on that play, which would make running it in more difficult. Also 2/3 of the Seahawks's Touchdowns were pass plays near the endzone that were so poorly covered that Seattle's Mediocre receivers made it look easy! An interception on the goal line is so unlikely that it probably doesn't even go through Carrol's mind. I think there was a greater chance that Lynch would have fumbled, than Wilson throwing that interception.

It's not like Lynch hasn't done it before:

This play happened right after Lynch fumbled the ball, which was recovered by the 49ers, but wasn't correctly officiated. Lynch Fumbled on back to back plays on the goal line in last year's NFC championship.

As for Butler being MVP, I disagree with you. Brady threw all 4 of New England's touchdowns. If Butler had made that interception in the first quarter, this wouldn't even be a discussion. If the Pats don't score 4 touchdowns, then you are asking if Marshawn Lynch should be the MVP. In the fouth quarter, Brady was 14/16, and had a QBR of over 140 in the fourth quarter against the leagues best pass defense in a long time. Brady was perfect time and time again, in the end Brady made more plays when it counted. Yes Butler saved the day for the Pats, but if Brady hadn't taken the lead by orchestrating 2 amazing drives, then that interception wouldn't have mattered. Butler caused 1 turnover (crucial, yes) but Brady scored the 28 points needed to beat Seattle.

I had two mild heart attacks and stroke like symptoms during the last 5 minutes of the game.

Great point.  That game should have been a loss as well.  Had the correct call been made.

I thought the ending was fitting for the game, if Marshawn Lynch had run in that touchdown, then people would be saying that the patriots should have won because of that ridiculous "catch" by Kearse.

The lack of humility in that comment for a game that was given to the Patriots is interesting.

EVERY Patriot fan literally crapped their pants after that bobbled reception at the 5 yard.  You all had reruns of 2007 running through your head, a nightmare that wouldn't go away.  The entire New England area had the same look that was on Brady's face.  That ugly, sinking feeling in your gut was quickly turning into an ulcer until one of the dumbest play calls ever snatched defeat from the jaws of victory for Seattle.

Any Patriots fan with an ounce of conscience & common sense would take the win & not offer any comments that could even be construed as trash talking or bragging.

Too bad the win will be vacated when the results of the most recent cheating scandal are brought to light... :)

Tell that to Lynn Swan or John Stallworth.  Great players make great athletic plays in big games.

I hear you man, I think it is wrong to bring up "this team should have won-" kind of statements, because there are too many "what-if" type scenarios to consider. But people are going to find something to complain about no matter the outcome.

Lol not a chance.

As for everything else you wrote above that, don't forget that Seattle needed a miracle to even be in the Superbowl, and yet another miracle to get into scoring position on that final drive.  They simply ran out of miracles.  Reminds me a lot of the Auburn Tigers from two years ago...

And as far as cheating scandals....it is fairly obvious that the whole Seattle team is built on PEDs.  The 12th man better hope that last year's title doesn't get vacated.
