With the newer mono lines being introduced ( Seaguar Senshi , Sunline Super Natural, Berkley Iron Silk or other) - have you switched your mono preference for top water applications OR have you elected to stay with the top water mono you previously / currently are using (Sufix Elite , Berkley Big Game , Triline XL , Stren , or other ?

I will always try new lines to see if there is one that better fits my needs and I do use a couple different monofilaments for different techniques. Topwater baits using treble hooks gets Berkley big game, it has just enough stretch that I can set the hook without ripping the bait free yet it isn't like a bungee cord either. I really have come to like the Trilene XL Armor coated, it seems to be just as tough as XT but handles much better, it is for all my spinning set ups. I tried Sunline super natural and it is a good line, very thin diameter and handles great but it also doesn't seem to take much abuse to break it. The Senshi line I found to be great handling but it has a little more stretch than I care for but big game is still my topwater line.

i switched from Berkley XL to Suffix Elite for my topwater and really like it..  good value for a great line. imo

I've been using maxima ultra green with great results. I was using sufix elite, has a bit of stretch though...

I use P-Line CXX or Tuf-Line Supercast for topwaters, unless it's a frog or toad - then it's 50# braid.

x2 on P-Line CXX. Just switched over to P-line and I really do like it.

Gotta get KVD L&L for it, but it's so tough.  Really liking the Supercast though, too.  Started using it this year.  It's low stretch, floats, and has a slightly higher break strength than mono.  It's not super abrasion resistant, though.

I've been using Defier and really like it. Very little memory and handles great.

Trilene BG or P line C21 are my topwater lines of choice, unless I'm frogging of course, then it's braid.

Do the co-polymer lines (such as P-Line C-XX and C21) float like a mono ? Do they absorb water (eventually) like a mono or does their co-polymer construction prevent water from being absorbed into the line ?

They all get water logged, but L&L mitigates it.  They will sink, but for the most part, they stay up.  It's not an issue like fluoro can be.

I started using braid for most of my topwater applications recently (50# or higher for frogs, 20-25# for everything else), but haven't made a total switch over because I'm not totally convinced of the pros vs cons of doing so. So, I'm still using Izorline XXX co-polymer and Sufix Siege. Can't go wrong with either of those as far as castability, abraision resitance, and price go IMO.
