Durable Square Bills?

Featured Replies

My 1.5s always seem to get cracked right down the middle of the lip. What are some other brands where the lip won't break?

Xcalibur , Jackall has circuit board lips, I have done pretty well with not destroying too many.. But I push them hard ( rock banging )

Look at the Timber Tiger DC 8 or the DC 5 if you want a smaller profile.

Are Spro's and Storm Arashi's bills very durable? Anyone ever crack one?

Megabass Z-CRANK X post-48975-0-75739000-1412452365_thumb.j These have held up well for me. They also have the circuit board bill

I beat my dt fat03 up and they work perfectly!

I agree with the bomber square A, also try the H2O CRS its probably just as durable as the 1.5 but half the price

Anything with circuit board lip will be pretty durable.

Arashis have worked well for me but I haven't banged it off of too many rocks.

Just don't get a Livetarget...

Still have yet to break an Academy H2O squarebill, and I abuse those ones worst than any other. I've even smacked them off the trolling motor on the cast a few times, which is usually a death sentence, still going strong.

I haven't been using them long enough to say much, but I'm really liking these Xcalibur squarebills I picked up.

They run good, have quality hooks, and are holding up nicely. I have caught some good fish on them, I like them so far.

The spros are the most durable squarebills I have ever used. In answer to your question, no I have never cracked one. They have great hooks, too. I agree that squarebills with circuit board lips are the most durable.

The Bill Norman cranks are tough as nails.  When the wind re-directed a couple of my normally deadly-accurate casts  , I slammed the same one off a steel railroad trestle and a big rock one day, and not only did it not shatter, crack or otherwise break, I had to look hard to find a mark on it!

Tight lines,

Bob

I use both regularly and have yet to crack any bills in or around big chunk rock. The paint gets beat up but there isn't a bait on the market that won't get scratched up on river boulders.

I'm impressed with the Academy CRS crankbaits... these things are freakin' awesome. They are super durable, cheap, and the paint jobs are incredible on these.

The Storm Arashi squarebills have a circuit board lip. I've yet to have issues with them and love the colors as well.

The jackall aska is very durable. Well worth the money! :)
