My my girl gets that glossed-over look when I start talking fishing stuff.  She doesn't shame me for spending dough but she definitely doesn't want to hear about what it is and why it's so awesome.

that's my wife there..... i assume it's the same look i have when she starts in on her recent clothing purchases....

Most of these were used with "scratch" in the definition, but if they didn't happen come outside of their original packaging, there is no way I could tell they aren't new. Very impressed with the quality and condition. 

It's finally here! Feels awesome in hand. Gonna spool it up with 15# hi-vis Power Pro and a Sunline's Super Sniper fluoro leader, tie on a Draggin Head and a Tube and get to work!

I do keep reaching for anti-reverse switch that isn't there....but I'll get used to it haha. 

Throw it on my St Croix Legend Tournament Bass Dropshot rod and I've got my best and favorite combo!

Honestly, she's very understanding.  It's just that right now my birthday is coming up and she does get mad when I buy a bunch of stuff for myself right before my birthday.  It can be hard for her to understand that you can never have enough fishing gear.  And I've got more lined up for gift ideas to give her.  

She duck hunts and even fishes with me occasionally, she just doesn't want to stay out all day like I do.

Not that I'd mind if she was more into it, but it's kind of nice having my own thing.  My boat is my fortress of solitude!

The latest haul. Lucky Craft baits are the best part. Was going to list what everything is but it would take quite a while.

Got in alot of stuff today, new dx 705 jig rod, its my first rod thats over $100, really liking it. Probably gonna put a curado 200i on it.

Nice, I was this close to buying that reel but the lack of the anti-reverse switch was a deal breaker for me.   I imagine it is a pretty sweet reel otherwise.

I can see why people would have an issue with that. Like if you actually back reel while fighting, which I dont.

But after hearing they got rid of it to increase the durability, it changed my mind. Not having another spot for water and crud to get into the inner workings makes them that much more durable and increases longevity of the reel. Works for me since all I use it for is getting slack for a cast.

That doesn't work for me -- and I've been married 33 years. Instead:

"I already explained why I needed that one. It is a special rod for a certain type of lure that I will be tossing a lot this spring. And it was on sale. I promise I wont need another rod for about 1000 years. Thank you so much for being so understanding. I knew you'd understand. I love you so much, you know that?"

And that was getting off pretty easy.

Oh yeah, and she wanted me to sell off one of my other rods, since this one's so important.

Tackle bag was on sale for 41, couldn't pass that up, but now I have new unfilled room........that's dangerous . Wanted to give the Project Z chatterbaits a shot. Also couldn't pass up the Sunfish or the new Rapala Shadow Rap Shad. Buddy swears by the top toads, decided to give em a shot. Whooper Plopper just interested me, see how that does in my waters.
