Those MGLs are the real deal. Part of me wants to buy a 2nd and part of me wants to try the Chronarch MGL first. Of those 3 reels you acquired I would be shocked if the MGL doesn't become your favorite over time. Nice buys!

I've already got 3 of the '13 Metaniums and they're my favorites. This MGL feels even nicer in my hands so far. I'm sure I'll be selling some of my other reels to get myself 2-3 of the Chronarch MGL's once they're available.

I got that Tatula HLC for frogging. The 8.1 ratio should be well suited for that.

The MGL's are excellent.  I got mine back in August and it was easily the lightest and smoothest reel I have.  I upgraded the bearings to the SiC bearings and casting is effortless.  I have a chronarch ci4+ that the MGL replaced, I'm not sure I need to try the Chronarch MGL.

Couple of my purchases during the winter in N. IL.  It's hard on the wallet...

Working on the crankbait situation

IMG_0047.JPG

Snagged a few rods on clearance today. Shimano Compre 6'6" M/XF, GLoomis Jerkbait rod JBR-812C and a Crankbait series CBR-864DF.

Now to figure out what to use them for..lol

Bought 3 rods in the last 2 weeks. All 3 megabass:

1. Black Jungle Super Red Demon

2. Black Jungle Power Versatile

3. Destroyer X7 Diablo Fast Move

Then there were 2 reels:

1. Megabass Zonda

2. Megabass IP79

If I don't post any more, please check for a shallow grave in my backyard...

I bought the DFM last year and it is probably the most versatile rod in my line up.  Not too fast or to moderate.  AWESOME rod.  What are your plans for it.

Going to be throwing moving baits on it, spinnerbaits, bladed jigs, and squarebills. I needed a heavier rod for throwing these baits down in Mexico. The cover is heavier than here in South GA.

What do you use your's for?

I bought it for mostly 1/2-3/4oz C-rig - also, jigs and t-rig in that size.  But there are only a few places I throw those weights (I fish alot of shallow waters).

But wasn't about to spend that kind of money for simply a few times a year.  I read how versatile it was and pulled the trigger.  I've thrown 1/2oz+ traps on it, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and bladed jigs, as well.  I really like it for bladed jigs.  It really is a great rod, you'll enjoy it.

I got this stuff today. Ordered it from jpangler in Japan on Saturday night and rcvd it Wednesday!

Kazu from JPAngler also replied to 3 separate emails of mine within minutes.

Looks like a Met DC to me.

Certainly not a Chronarch MGL. Try a Daiwa Z.

@kickerfish1  Yeah I thought the DC, I have the 13 & 16 Mentaniums but the cap on the handle is silver on the new ones which made me ask which one this is but I'm pretty sure it is the DC. And my Chronarch comment was in regards to the members above talking about a new Chronarch MGL coming out. Was wondering where they heard or seen that and if there is any pic's of it out yet.

Seems to me like it's the same reel, minus the red accents. With an MGL spool.

Do a Google search. It comes up on the Shimano Japan page.

@TxHawgsyep, totally is a 2015 Metanium DC.  It has been on my list of reels for a while and one popped up.  Pretty sweet condition and I really enjoy my Exsence DC.  There's a video of a casting comparison between the met MGL, met DC and I think the 2013 met.  Kind of surprising where it ended up.  Pretty cool none the less.

Bah, I can't find the video, but the met DC ended up casting the furthest with 2/3 baits (weightless worm, swimbait and crankbait).

@Scarborough817 Thanks!  Yeah I was on the look out for the older model Z2020 and they rarely if ever come up for sale.  I kinda wish this one had a slower gear ratio as I'd probably have more uses for it.  I am not sure if anyone has tried it yet but swapping gears from the older z2020 6.4:1 into the new body and see if it works.

This reel has a great matte finish and I would imagine if Darth Vader was into bass fishing, this would be his reel...:)

Just ordered a 3 1/4" Spro BBZ1 Rat in morning dawn and a bag if 5" GY Senkos in Motor oil/red.(finally sucking it up and trying the senko)Free ship to store at BPS so I should have them by mid May lol.I hope that rat is the real deal. From what I've read and videos on YouTube it seems worth it.
