$50 for a GL2? I'd have jumped on that. I have a 853S JWR that gets used a as much as any other rod in my arsenal. They were in the $200 range when they came out.

It was the older GL2 with the blue blank and the plastic cap on bottom of the straight handle.

Yeah the newer gen sold for $200 but have been told they were not worth it. I think some folks on here snagged a few when Dick's had them on clearance for $119.

No unfortunately u didn't lol. I would of bought the GL2, Did they have a cpl of them?

Just had the one. $50 cdn...so like $38 US

Been struggling over that rod for a month or so. I'd even PM'd a few folks on here after I had done some research and found older posts.

Went to my tackle shop today and I was looking at the clearance rod rack. 2 Crucial crc66mh and a Mbr7something GLoomis GL2 for $50 each. Monkey was on my back hard and I fought him for the whole 2 hours I was there.

I walked out empty handed and the whole drive home I was asking myself......did I win?

I would've jumped on those Crucials big time...Major props for fighting off the monkey!

I just gave it a shot the other day with one of the 10g ones.  It very much wants a loop knot or split ring, but they have a nice subtle wiggle at low speeds and the price is right for throwing in all sorts of cover without much worry.  Please report back if you have any luck with them.

Not quite up to TxHawgs' standards, but I still picked up more than I had planned...

Curado 70, 8.2:1

Never had a dedicated frog rod, and apparently it's time

Dob_zpslvop8xs6.jpg

Dob2_zps5wjtd6wi.jpg

And some tackle... my first 110, a couple shell white Staysees, and Fx2 for the frog rod

Now I feel like the type of person I don't like. No need to post stuff I buy in here. I'm here to learn get advice and opinions and posting my gear doesn't get me any of that.

seeing what others buy helps me expand my brands beyond my comfort zone.  Your posts may not help you but they do help some of us!

I should have posted this here instead of in the other forum: My inexpensive pier, jetty and boat rig. A KastKing Rover reel and medium-heavy Ugly Stik. Will work for swim baits, if I ever fish swim baits.

Carbon Fiber Sheet and Shimano Cardiff Spool came in the mail. Made 3 drag washers for my Pro Qualifier as the stock ones were shot, all set now for frogging this year. Also bought some 65lb 832 and spooled up the cardiff spool to fish big topwaters.

 Love the Case plastics Magic Stiks. They are a great alternative to expensive senkos.

Bro... sorry you took it that way because that was not the intention. This is a tackle addict thread and my comment was all in fun and definitely not meant to be snarky. You've been picking up some sweet gear and tackle that we enjoy seeing, so please keep them coming as you replenish. Somewhere in these 188 pages there are probably a number of posts by me as I picked up a handful of NRX's and other high end gear... definitely no hate coming from me!

My first square bills, I'm looking forward to trying them out on creek smallies. A rattletrap, I'm looking forward to ripping grass with it, and a suspending crank my wife said was pretty and would catch fish. Honestly, I let her pick out a lot of lures, she has a knack for finding "the one"

@NorcalBassin Thanks man I appreciate it. I didn't take it in a weird way I just didn't want to be seen in a certain way. But thanks for putting things straight. These were delivered today lol.

A Daiwa Lexa 300 to replace the 80's Shimano Bantam on my lighter Muskie rod.  Couple packs of Storm 360Gt searchbaits.  Spare prop for my Terrova.

Next month will be a handheld VHF radio.  Can't fish with it but need one in the boat.

Uh oh.... I just realized my birthday is a couple days away.  The bait monkey just sent me a card and now I can't stop looking at JDM DC reels ?

Mine is a month away. Yesterday morning I was out at the shop with my gf's stepdad (he paints custom crankbaits) when a local tackle shop owner came by to place an order. One thing led to another during our conversations, and he walked out to the truck and got one of his custom rods (that he builds) to "show us the thread work". Lets just say that now the bait monkey is all in my ear about getting one, it was by far the lightest rod I've ever held, and starting at the price point that they do... Well it is doable, unfortunately for me.

Worst part is, I know that I don't need another rod... but maybe if I sell one of the Vendettas, and the pinnacle, and the KVD Tour...

Its hard to come up with reasons you *need* to upgrade from an Ito reel but I am a doer and there's always a way!

How are those Big Z's? Are they a balsa equivalent of the Grenade?

I haven't fished the Grenade. The Big Z has a wide wobble, even on a fast retrieve. I like using it when the bite slows down on other cranks...it seems to get their attention back.

Did you get the 2.0 for much of a price difference? If yes may I ask the site you bought them from? Thanks
