Looking for a good cranking rod for under $120 any recamondations?

X2.  They make a 7' as well as a 7'10" I believe.  Even if they aren't on sale, they are right around $60 and well made rods for a store brand.  Or can go with BPS Crankin line.

Shallow squarebills? Medium crankbaits or deep crankbaits?

A lot of people like the Abu Garcia Veritas Cranking rods. The 2.0 model is $100, and they original model from last year is on sale at Tackle Warehouse for $59. I also like Berkley rods a lot, and they have a new model called the E-Motion Performance Series that has technique specific models, including a few different crankbait rods for $80. The Field and Stream Tech Specks are nice also. They don't have a cranking specific model, but the soft plastic model is a 7' Medium Fast, and I felt it at the store and it seems like it would be a great cranking rod for $60. There are lots of good options

I really like the Denali Jadewood crankbait rods in that price Range.. I throw the 843 mostly for midsize diving baits and squarebills. As a bonus the 843 and 842 make good jerkbait rods.

 If you looking for a rod for deep divers like the DD22,6XD ect. the Mojo big crankster is worth a look.

I've never fished those Field and Stream Tech Spec rods but they seem to get pretty good reviews and they were 20% off the reduced price when I was at the store the other day, so $48.  I picked up a medium weight spinning rod and was on my way to the checkout but I ran into the Daiwa Cielo rack at half price on the way out so I went that direction instead.

If you can find one still on sale, the Shimano Crucial Crankbait rod is awesome.  It hits that "Goldie Locks" zone of not too sensitive and not too dead.  It is also has a Mod-Fast taper.

I'm not a big fan of those parabolic action crank bait rods.  The rod I use for cranking most of the time is more of a compromise.  I like the BPS Extreme ETR 74MT.  It is a 7'4" rod that is on the heavy side of medium.  BPS originally marketed the rod as a Woo Davis special, a pitching rod.  I don't like it for pitching at all, but it is a decent square bill/crank rod.  I've got 3 of them.   Occasionally, I will try a different rod for cranks, but so far all those have gotten traded away and I go back to the BPS Extreme.

My favorites for under a hundred dollar bill would be a Cabela's Tournament ZX (cranking) or a Lew's David Fritts Palmer cranking rod.

But for the money, it's hard to be the old Vertas cranking rods while they're available or the Bass Pro Cranking Rod.

The Denali Jade wood 7' MH cranking rod will handle everything from a square bill to a 5xd coming in at around $100 good stick hard to beat

I know someone who got one of those Berkley E-Motion rods for one of his friends and he said it will surprise a lot of people and I'll bet it will be a perfect budget rod for someone who wants to try a better class of rod without having to drop a lot of money just yet.

My primary cranking rod is a new Veritas 2.0, good stick, especially since sensitivity isn't critical in cranking.
