I'm going shopping for a heavy action, fast flipping type rod about 7'4" or so. Prefer USA made. Found a  Kistler at about $275 includes free Fedex Ground. I don't know much about that company. No complaints about the two or three St Croix I own. Not too fond of the one Falcon I have but will give it another season. I know made in America costs, but I try to do my part.

 

Any others out there I should consider. BTW switched to Lews reels and happy so far with the ones I have.

The last lamiglass rod I looked at was made in china. It was a lower end Excell rod though.

Give Mike a call at Delaware Valley Tackle and have him build you a custom. It'll be American made and built just for you.

Hammer rods makes a nice product. Kistler makes a fantastic rod, using the NFC blanks on their KLX and Helium rods. ALX rods are outstanding. St Croix rods are time tested, though I think you can get better values from other manufacturers. There's plenty of options out there, just depends what you're looking for.

Seeker rods are also American Made. The Bushido Samurai series look really nice on TW.

Not to burst your bubble, but all so claimed "American-Built" fishing rods are not American Built. 99.999% of the guides are imported. Even St. Croix, which has such a good reputation for being an "American" rod does not use American built guides.

ALX gets their blanks from Hydra. The owner of Hydra is also the owner of ALX. Similar to the Edge-NFC relationship.

The blanks are rolled and assembled in South Carolina.

I'd rather use a couple components to finish an American made blank, than use an entire rod assembled overseas.

I see you're point, as the same with reel seats.. I was under the impression the OP was inquiring about rod blanks, plus assy. In USA... That was my impression.

If I am going to buy American, it is either G. Loomis or St.Croix.

If someone in the US would produce a good guide, believe me, companies will use them. Until then, its Fuji for me. I should clarify, ceramic ringed guide, I know Rec guides are US made.

Snake Brand guide are made here, and I use them as running guides on my fly builds. For strippers, its Fuji too.
