Need to know what the best Flourocarbon is for $12- and under.

There isn't a best fluoro for $12.

He's right. If you're gonna get line, spring for it. Went to yo-zuri hybrid because of another member, I won't go back.

Red Label is the best you're going to get..

Sea-Guar Red Label is the best "Cheap" line you will get. I think it is around $14.  I understand money can be tight but you need to always remember that the only thing between you and maybe that fish of a life time IS the line. Do you want to have a great story to tell or the story of how you hooked a good bass and the line broke?

Red label is ok around soft cover, in rocks though its Yozuri hybrid.

Yo-Zuri Hybrid is a bonded, not coated, nylon/ fluorocarbon blend.

Most guys like it, some don't. Give it a try and see what you think,

it's an inexpensive experiment.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

Red label is what I use for my leader material with braid. Works fine for the waters around here.

I dunno...in my experience, threads like this tend to lead to a follow-up "I hate fluoro" thread...

 

I've had good luck with Bass Pro, Invisx and Berkley 100% fluoro.  None of those are $12 a spool (except maybe Bass Pro when they put theirs on sale) but they're still in the moderately priced range.

 

Remember that you can make fluoro "cheaper" by using mono backing.  One 200-yard spool of fluoro can give you three ~65 yard spools worth of line (with the rest filled by backing).

Some of my reels have Abrazx and some have Red Label. I could not tell you which has which.

For me the Red Lable is fine for leader, but too stiff for mainline.

I also use Red Label for most applications. I agree with RW that copolymer line is a good, cheap alternative to fluorocarbon. YZ Hybrid or P-Line CXX are excellent choices with far better abrasion resistance than Red Label.

I agree on the Red Label! It gets my vote 

I used Red Label last year and was surprised at how good it was.  It is a little stiff but with a little line conditioner, the 12lb I used was great.  Other than this line, I would say there really isn't anything else.
