Bank beater here

I'm almost always beating the banks. Love to power fish but probably have better luck when I slow down with a jig or a worm in shallow cover.

I like fishing the thickest nastiest cover I can find. The kind of places that other fisherman wont cast to for fear of getting stuck. I would prefer it to be unobvious, sunken and way off shore.

 

I guess I would call myself a jig fisherman above all else.

 

I do fish onshore but again I want it to be the thickest nastiest kind of cover. I would cast directly into the center of this:

I basically do three things.  1.Find the sloppiest part of the lake (lilly pads, grass, weeds, whatever it is) park my yak in the middle of it, and throw frogs/sickfish.  B.Hit the bank and all visible structure.  3. Hop big swimbaits and jigs off points/clam beds. 

I suppose I fall Into the category of finding the nastiest stuff around to throw a jig/beaver/or worm, I do this a lot.

 

On the other hand I, on occasion, am fishing somewhat deeper with a variety of baits. It's been a real eye opener.

I'm fishing the River 95% of the time. Rocky banks, islands, and spillways. Spinnerbaits, topwaters, tubes and flukes.

Power fishing in the heaviest cover available.

I love fishing rocks.

My style? Who knows. I love pitching to heavy cover with big line in dirty water. Early morning topwater explosions? Perfect. Bouncing squarebill off sparse logs and rocks, rocks. In the same day I will dropshot with a fairy wand or drag a finesse worm and be ecstatic about any fish I catch in all of the mentioned above and anything in between. That's why I carry so much esoteric crap in my boat and it looks like an entire preschool was allowed to play in it after a day's fishing. The only common vein I display in any style is impatience! There's got to be a better way, and I'm going to try to find it in the next two minutes. One day that slow rolled super spook on a C-Rig is gonna get nasty! Perhaps the real question should be, if you had to spend a day getting skunked, how would you like to do it? Oh yeah, don't get me started on swimbaits.

The best advice I ever had from one of the 25-30 guides I have hired over the years is " sometimes you have to turn around and fish the other side of the boat"  meaning, go from shallow to deep.

I really enjoy fishing slowly and methodically, whether that be dragging a football jig on deep rocks, a dropshot or dobbing a Texas rig in the weeds. I do really enjoy throwing a swim jig or square bill though too but have never been a power fisherman on the bank and usually stay offshore. I don't even think I have thrown a spinnerbait in over 3 years and am probably the only bass fisherman on earth who doesn't like frog fishing!

So do I but the lakes I mainly fish there is no out deep.

Flippin and pitching mostly, any kind of structure along the bank or offshore i dont pass up. Most of my summers consist of punching through lily pads.

Keep it simple Simon. I usually fish spinning gear. Plastics, worms and jigs for fishing slow and paddle tail swimbaits for casting and winding. I usually fish a couple super clear rivers or deep and clear mountain lakes but I like fishing stained water and heavy cover when I get the chance.

Basshole banker here.  When I'm not lazy, then it's yak attack.  Any body of water I don't know when yakking, I'll bring the sonarphone (budget fishfinder, but better depth and water temp. gadget).  

 

As far as casting and fishing style, that changes by season.  Sloooow pig n jig in colder times.   Ripping cranks in spring and fall.  Mid spring to early summer-frog time.  Summer heat brings the mosquito repellant and topwater action.  Casting, I've become a little more ambidextrous, still touching up on the left handedness for pitching.  

I'm a bank Fisher. So honestly I fish whatever I think might work lol. Lately I've been tossing jig and plastics cause I'm new to that style

I always start from the shallows usually right on the bank and work my way out until I can find fish. 

I'd consider myself a finesse angler.
