I just bought rod gloves at Academy last week for all of my baitcasters and they are great..no more rod box tangles. For the spinning rods, they have another one that works pretty good too.

I've tried the Rod Glove, Stick Jacket and the BPS brand.

The Rod Glove is my favorite...Well made and I like the wrapped tip.

I like the Stick Jacket the least because of the metal ring on the tip.

I'm always afraid if I'm not carefull enough, the mesh will come loose on the inside and ruin a tip.

Plus, I dont store my rods upside down, which would be an advantage if you do.

I do use them for storage purposes in my home.

 

I use the G. Loomis covers for the GLX rods and the Rod Glove for others.

 

Just double check to make sure you purchase the correct versions as they come in baitcaster and spinnerbait sizes.

I use the Rod Sox...the end of it is tough rubber to protect the tips of the rods, and the entry of the sock is molded rubber too to make it easier to put on without tangles

Yes, I use the Pro series "Rod Glove" which is made of neoprene.

In conjunction with the Rod Glove, I use a lure protector at the butt end of the rod protector.

My wife makes the lure protectors which incorporate Velcro and transparent latex windows.

Installing & uninstalling the protectors is a Big Drag,

but it's better than detached guide inserts rattling on the line

I have about 4 or 5 different brands. They all do the job. The cheapest ones use a looser weave and aren't as good or as durable. By the way, none of them float. I know this from too much experience

I found out the tough way that Rod Sox don't float. I contacted them to suggest they put some kind of warning or disclaimer on their site and products about it since I presumed it would float. They promptly took care of me. Offered me a new one for free and 50% off an additional one. Great folks to deal with.

Rod Glove, it's all I can find locally and works well. I like the one's with colored patterns to match my rods. I had one where a guide pulled through somehow and I had to cut it off to remove it but it was probably my fault. I've had no issues with any of them other than the one. They're good quality from my experience.

You cut the tip of your rod, or you cut the Rod Glove. That's happened to me a couple of times. All you have to do is flex the material, and it will open enough to push the tip back through.

My wording might have been confusing there. Yeah, I just cut the rod glove off. I messed with it for a while and just couldn't get it back through so I just cut it off the rod. I stomped on the pieces several times afterwards like a mad man. LOL. 

Oh, and I also use the Rod Glove...
