Finesse Jigs

Featured Replies

Hello I was wondering what brand is best for finesse rigs and what color would be good around winter?

Thanks

I prefer my own, but as far as brands, the jewel eakins jig is what I used to buy. Color in my opinion is subjective, and I believe it's more about confidence than anything. As long as it is sort of crawfish colored, I feel confident enough to throw it.

I make my own as well but if I was buying them it would be a Jewel Baits Eakins jig or the Booyah Pro Boo Bug.

Kietech makes some smaller jigs, I fish a lot of Bass Patrol football jigs (1/4-1/2oz) which are small and compact, and Pepper has a good one as well.

I just use the old Strike King Bitsy Bugs in any dark color .

Finesse jig is another "how do you define it"?

If you are thinking a smaller compact light wire hook with front mane type weedless jig made of living rubber than Skinny Bear mullet jig fits the discription. I tend to favor purple/brown.

Another guy that makes his own but use to buy Eakin's jigs. I like Missouri Craw, PB&J, and watermelon red.

I usually use Strike King Bitsy Bugs.  I use the same colors I use when it is warm out.

Jewel Eakins and Jakked also makes a really nice finesse jig..

I use green pumpkin and PBJ the most.

Green fish tackle has some nice finesse jigs. All their jigs are wire tied and have living rubber.

Chomper's has some that I have had pretty good success with, but Seibert just came out with some "Sniper Jigs" that look pretty sweet.

Dirty jigs work great and are worth the money quality wise.

I make my own most of the time, though the Jewell Eakins, Booyah and Bitsy Bugs are all decent jigs.

You'll get a slower fall with the spider style jigs, they'll grab a lot more water than full skirts.

You asked about color - Match the bottom - Black, black/blue and green pumpkin ought to cover you pretty much everywhere.
