  • The "Go-To" bait thing, ya that doesn't seem to work for me.   The closest version of that for me would be that there are one or two baits that I can use for each calendar period that routinely prod

  • Spinnerbait for me. I will catch a fish on a spinnerbait, guaranteed. Jig and pig is a close second.

  • 5" Zoom Super Fluke in White Ice/Watermelon Gold rigged weightless on 3/0 EWG hook. Produces bass year-round for me

Spinnerbaits. I love covering ground and hitting every bank, every point, dock, and structure. You can always almost get at least one hit.

1/4 oz bullet weight and a 3/0 EWG Offset Worm Hook

I don't think there is just 1 bait I have more confidence over the others, but I do have 1 that is a flat out bird dog lure. Whenever I have a tough time locating fish, I can count on this to find em. It won't get you the biggest one in the playground, but it will tell you where they are.

I would say a baby brush hog Texas rigged.

a 1/2oz blue bug siebert outdoors dredge brush jig with a blue bug rage craw trailer

or a 1/2oz bluegill siebert outdoors fogy (chatterbait) with a bluegill bass pro speed shad

Booyah Spinnerbait. .

Lately its been a Junebug TRD (Ned Rig) followered by a Bandit 100 Tenn Shad crankbait.

1/4 oz Dirty Jigs Swim Jig in dill gill with a candy gill shockwave in warm water and a bluegill rage tail menace in cold water

Live Wild shiner...It shows me how many bass have been ignoring by presentations all day when I decide to catch one and free line it...next time you are fishing a Pond or Lake and can't get bit on a plastic worm which is probably the confidence bait for me...Jig/Texas Rig try and catch a small baitfish or shiner and live line it....I have had days when I was shut out from the bank, chum up a few shiners, throw em on a worm hook, braid, and get bit every time it hits the water...If only artificials worked as well as a big wild Shiner...

#1 Confidence bait in shallow water which is what I mostly fish is a texas rigged worm or soft craw of some type. I would say a black and blue jig with green pumpkin trailer is hard to beat.....

Berkley Chigger craw black/blue, T-rigged, 3/16 oz tungsten bullet weight

or

Zoom Trick Worm, bubble gum

I think I could get a bite on either of these almost EVERY TIME I go, almost any time of year.
